LG looking like the culprit. RB didn't help him. It was both of them against a single blitzer, and the defender got easily past them right to the middle of the pocket, preventing Zappe from stepping up. So Zappe had to sit back an extra second at a very difficult depth for the OTs to protect from outside pass rushers.

(Pls don't shoot, I'm not a film guy)

Here is the most telling snapshot of that play, IMHO.

Anderson is beaten, Robinson and the RB are beaten.. Wallace is beaten.

Here is what I don't understand watching this multiple times.

Zappe is in Shotgun. So he's already 5 yards back behind the LOS. As soon as he gets the ball, he starts back-pedalling and puts himself right in line for BOTH edge rushers to hit him deep. The problem I see is that Zappe started back before Robinson and the RB engaged the Rushing LB.. Zappe should have been surveying the field, as soon as he got the ball, not backpeddling farther. He had no idea if the LB would have beaten the RB and Robinson at that point. So, my question is WHY? What did Zappe see that caused him to backpedal right into where the OTs were taking the Edge Rushers.

Because that is his assignment. Thats the drop the play that was called assigns to him. Never does a play tell a qb to choose a drop by reading pass rushers.

As wolf has been excellent IMO.. the one thing I'm confused on is the OT spots... we have guys there but seemingly no one they are convinced with. At this point there is no player out there that's a savior. Go with the best 5... AVP will run the rock and running the rock is the best thing to help the o line and unlock the offense.

I’d love to hear an analysis of how you judge wolf to be excellent.

We had a 4 win team with 100,000,000 of cap space to work with. Where do you see significant improvement? Wouldn’t there have to be significant improvement to say the GM did a great job? Which moves did he make that were excellent in your opinion?
