Watt is a steroid machine. No thanks.

saying stupid **** makes people go there

I think everyone with a brain will realise it was a joke about overdoing trade capital. I didn't feel i would need to spoon feed that as I have respect for people on this board. Thanks for showing me the error of my ways.

I thought this thread was about steak. Never mind.

don't say stupid ****

mallett is irrelevant

I'd prefer just a first rounder than taking that idiot

Flowers - Branch - Brown - Watt would be the most dominating DL at the LOS in the league. That unit would allow us to play SS/coverage LBers behind them often. Both Flowers & Watt can play DT on passing downs.

Watt would be BB's best D player since LT so if the Texans would consider a similar trade it's definitely worth exploring.

No
1) Huge cap hit
2) Serious concerns about back health going fwd
3) Despite top talent has failed to be a difference maker, such as a shut down CB
4) No indication that Houston wants to deal their hometown fav
5) Pats have developing holes that need to be addressed elsewhere (OT, C?, DB, maybe a biggie @TEs)

Much respect, Patsinthesnow. I don't know if I can agree with your thought that Watt would be BB's best since Taylor. . I know Ty never won DPOY, but that's more because corners don't usually get that award. He allowed BB to do all the things we saw those defenses do (among other players, obviously). If Ty is on that 2007 roster, NE is 19-0. Revis, likewise, was no slouch. I think those guys are just as much, if not even slightly better and more impactful, than Watt. I'm not saying Watt isn't a generational talent. He's obviously a monster when at the top of his game. But those two corners were just flat-out shut you out types season in and season out, and they made their biggest plays in the biggest games . . . well, Ty definitely. I haven't always seen that from Watt. Has Watt ever really been a problem for the Patriots when they've played?

Yes, Obviously. And saying "No, thank you" is simply, very, not correct.

Having Watt on ours defense is incredible. He's even considered a versatile player, so he fits our multiple schemes' philosophy. He is just one of the best of all time in his prime. If he is 70% of his best, he is still one of the best DE-DL we had since the beginning of the century.

"Cap hit" - We have way over than 50M in cap space. Its more than enough room to fit him here, with contracts protecting both sides. Patriots can bet on a player for a year: Revis signed a 34M for a 2Y contract (20M option for year 2), as an example

"oh his ego..." Watt is a douche, sure, but he is not an imbecile. If Chad Ochocinco was able to fall in line, Watt is no problem at all. He and Gronk respect each other and would get along, too.

In yet another point: if we had Watt for tomorrow, wouldn't you be a tad more confident?

No, because he is still injured and would just be one of the inactives, which is also where he would likely spend an inordination amount of his remaining career as a Pat.

Speaking of wild trades, I had a dream last night where the Pats traded Edelman & a 4th rounder for Julio Jones.

JJ Watt and #25 fo JG? One too many blows to the head Sean. The Texans would never do that.

The hypothesis is "If we HAD Watt". If you change the hypothesis, you are changing the question.

Watt and his suspect back go together.

Watt and the scheme here do not go together.......let me know when a leading sacker becomes a need around here......vrabel was up there once, nobody cared

This why Salisbury was fired by ESPN. I would love that trade, but I live in the real world.

They did give Assweiler that silly contract, so they might be dumb enough to do something like this.
