ESPN, May 3 , said Wynn's base was for this year is $10.4M, Michel's $4.5M if they'd ex. option.
Seems like a big difference for rookie contracts #23 vs #31.

Can you explain, please?
Excerpt:
The Patriots would have owed Michel a base salary of about $4.5 million, per Over the Cap, fully guaranteed, in 2022 if they had exercised his option.

Wynn missed his rookie season in 2018 after tearing his Achilles in the preseason. Injuries have limited him to a combined 18 games (all starts) at left tackle the past two seasons.

By having his option exercised, Wynn will be paid a base salary of $10.4 million, fully guaranteed, in 2022.

It's based on position first, and then playing time and pro bowls. The top 10 picks used to have their 5th year options calculated differently (still based on position), but now it's the same methodology regardless of draft slot.

According to this, it's kind of complicated how the 5th year option salary gets calculated and depends on things like performance and position.

Also, I think Miguel is more of a Twitter user and is more likely to reply there.
Miguel has forgotten us "little people"...he is big time now. He is probably eating a Snickers Bar with a fork and knife.

but we still love him

He wasn't called properly.

@braveht, stand in the mirror and say his name three times. Or... actually just @Miguel...

@Miguel still comes on Patsfans. You have to make sure you use the "at" symbol before his name so it picks up that you're referring to a User on the board so that he get's a notification. But, no, he's not on here like he used to be. That's what happens when you start getting paid to do a job while also having a family and such,,
