Rumor: Patriots tried to trade for Aaron Rodgers

You guys know the rules.

Please be respectful to Lily pics and don't add a third bubble to them.

She appears here under protest most of the time. Respect the woman for her brain. She has a full, perky set of ... cerebral hemispheres.

I kinda don't believe for a second we made a serious trade attempt for Rodgers lol. I mean you do kick the tires and throw in a 7th round offer see what happens but I doubt there was a genuine pursuit of him

This is a plea to close this thread, (but keep the pictures). This is nothing but click bait of the WORST kind. Just a claim to get on the right side of beleaguered jet fans who lap up ANYTHING that even remotely can be viewed as a slap at the Pats Certainly not worthy of a post let alone a thread (except for the pictures) I am ashamed I posted at all

I don't buy it. Rodgers has expressed respect for Belichick in the past. I do not believe he would have vetoed a trade to NE.
I also don't believe they wanted him.

Keeping him from the Jets would have been a plus.

Not possible!
Bill's too cheap unless we're talkin Special Teamers

I don't know if I could root for a team that had Rodgers at QB.

I don't think Bill made an offer. Rodgers likes to push his coaches around and humiliates them like he did to Mike McCarthy in team meetings in Green Bay or LaFluer in press conferences.

He wouldn't be able to get away with that with Bill.

49ers wanted him too.

I find it hard to believe, given the opportunity to trade Mac for 3 seasons of Rodgers and Belichick, that Pats Fans would really turn it down. Rodgers is a 4x NFL MVP, some of his stats are mindboggling, and he "sucked" last season while still being better than Mac (and Mac probably had better weapons).

Brady played elite football to age 45, Rodgers is only 39, he quit last season, it wasn't a talent decline and he'll be motivated this year to build onto his legacy. After watching Brady and Stafford do it, I'm sure Rodgers thinks he can follow suit. A Super Bowl appearance isn't out of the question for the Jets. Buffalo is probably the only other East team with a chance, Miami maybe if Tua starts every game (lol) and their defense is significantly improved (doubt it).

Oh neat! Let me try! @InRodWeRust says the Patriots tried to trade for Justin Herbert but he didn't want to play for New England.

There we go! Am I a credible professional journalist yet?

Right….

We were willing to pay Aaron’s salary and give some picks to the Packers…..

Sure….

It wouldn't surprise me if the Pats did their due diligence and made some sort of offer because he's an upgrade to what they had. Does that mean they seriously pursued him were interested in negotiating beyond whatever they offered? I kind of doubt it.
