I'm not too sure about the rumor or the source.

Rumor: Aaron Rodgers DENIED Patriots' Attempted Trade

I don't buy it. Rodgers has expressed respect for Belichick in the past. I do not believe he would have vetoed a trade to NE.

We'll see how the season unfolds but Rodgers looks like he still has plenty left in the tank. He pretty much checked out on Green Bay last season so the change in scenery should do him some good. QB was the final piece for the Jets, they're pretty solid all around, good receivers, good running game with a healthy Breece Hall, very good defense. Last season they got one good start each from Flacco and White but beyond those their QB play was horrendous. Rodgers changes the equation and probably gets them into the postseason. He similarly would have improved the Patriots chances. Personally I can't stand the guy but there's no denying his quarterbacking ability. However, there is something to be said for his lack of postseason success... he's got really good individual postseason numbers but he has a very bad habit of coming up small in the most critical moments (which obviously is a glaring flaw).

Rogers was league MVP the season before last and got bounced from the playoffs because his special teams turned the ball over twice to the 49ers.

If the Jets team around him is great, he’ll make noise in the playoffs, if they’re typical dysfunctional Jests he’ll fail. It’s an uber talented team, we’ll find out how well coached soon enough.

If (big if) something happened and he somehow turned down going to NE it's because he's scared ****less of the inevitable and nonstop TB12 comparisons that would ensue from such a move.

On the other hand TB12 would have embraced the challenge full-on if he'd been approached by the Pack instad of the Bucs in 2020.
