Rookie Watch: Malcom Brown, Jordan Richards, Geneo Grissom, Trey Flowers

I voted Brown but this is class overall I am very excited about. I have made that very clear I think.

The Pats have done at least well on every draft since 2010. 2011 was meh but the others were very good.

Brown has been our best or 2nd best DT this season. His last 3 or 4 games have seen him grown a ton. I would only put Alan Branch ahead of him so far and not by much.

Hicks and Easley have a chance to leapfrog Brown and Branch as they develop more and get used to our system. Brown is really the only 3-down DT we have right now unless Easley gets better on running downs.

Once Chris Jones comes back Siliga could potentially be the odd man out. Chris Jones and Easley are our only "true" 3-tech DTs and Hicks, Brown and Branch all have overlapping abilities as space eater, run controlling DTs.

I've kinda-sorta been paying attention to Brown lately as hes been playing more but it seems to me he is MUCH better at gap responsibility.

Brown has ascended steadily and is heads and shoulders above the others. Flowers was most impressive pre-season and then became injured. I think this is the first week he was taken off the injury report, so it will be interesting to see if he can work into the line-up . With Sheard out, he could see snaps in a DE rotation if active.

2009 with Vollmer, Chung, and Edelman is looking pretty damn good these days too. That's 2 Pro-Bowl caliber players and a solid starter. Can't ask for much more than that.

Every time I see a reference to that banner- in words or picture -it conjures something. And this one, I just have to share! So, they put up this "AFC Finalist" banner and what was the score of that game; the one that got them their banner? And isn't that a game they cannot even talk about...too embarrassing? So, they pin up a banner to remind them of that game. OK, I'm calling them out. That's insanity!

Does IND have a banner committee that sits around trying to figure reasons for putting up their next banner? Perhaps, they should just fast-forward and fill the place with banners? And if anyone challenges them on this, just call them "haters." Isn't that how the insane work, today?

Richards has had one or two good plays. I forget which game, but there was an opposing receiver that made a catch near the sidelines over Richards. Richards caught him in the air and carried him out of bounds, probably a good yard and a half away from the out of bounds line, before he could get his feet down. Was a smart, heads up play on his part.

Yea. BB has said some guys are late-bloomers. Maybe hes holding out hope for Wilson.

He is a good STer.

Plus I think BB likes him as Chung's legit backup.

He was seeing 10-15 snaps a game as the 2nd big nickel at the end of last year and in the playoffs.

I think Richards makes him obsolete in 2016 regardless. He's already better than Wilson IMO.

Agreed.

Flowers being banged up has been frustrating since he looked really good in PS.

I do expect to see him this weekend.

The only bum safety we have drafted is Tavon Wilson.

Hardly a bum.. but even I as a Belichick homer can admit (and always have) that it seems like he was in fact a reach (meaning it seems like he would have been there a few rounds later).
