Maybe this will make you think twice about this buffoon's chances of winning the appeal.
For the Second District of New York, we learned that 66 of 68 cases seeking to overturn an arbitrator's decision have been denied, which comes to roughly 3%. I have heard higher estimates, as high as, but no higher than, 10% as the likelihood that an arbitrator's decision will be overturned in any given case. Even using that pessimistic 90% estimate that an arbitrator will not be overturned, let's look at the buffoon's track record.
0-5
The chances of this happening is a solid 0.01%, or a cool 1 in 100,000. The chances of prevailing at least once, given the national odds, are 99.999%, or 99,999 times in 100,000. There's a 59% chance an arbitrator would be undefeated in five court attempts to strike down his or her decision, and a 99.95% he or she would have a winning record.
So, I'm trying to point out that we are dealing with a special type of idiot here. This isn't a run of the mill moron, because, I forgot to mention something else:
Although Roger Goodell's federal court arbitration record is worse than 99.999% of his peers, he also runs a multi-billion dollar empire, has access to more money, power, and attorneys than any other "arbitrator", and has already been given a blueprint on how to avoid this outcome by multiple attorneys and even the federal judges themselves.
My question is, how incredibly arrogant, stupid, pigheaded, moronic, impossibly stubborn, egotistical, obtuse, and smug does Goodell have to be that FOR THE FIFTH time he must have told them to shut up and leave him alone while he conducted his kangaroo court in his own failed way? I simply cannot imagine his staff of dozens of Harvard recruiters would not have advised him he needed to allow Pash and evidence discovery during the appeal hearing. It is SO hard to lose an arbitration decision in court, but Goodell has five now without a single win. I truly believe he is the most arrogant man in America.
And the dumbest.
Let's face it: we are excited that Brady won, but this was like beating up on a laughable team like the NY Jets, whose long-term bumbling failures are the only comparable stat to Goodell's record. Wait, where did Goodell used to work?
