Rodney Harrison: "They're not afraid of Peyton Manning"

Well, I am afraid of Peyton Manning. The guy is a first ballot hall of famer. I am very afraid. Glad the players aren't though. Good for them.
I'm with you, man. I think the Pats win this game, but It'll be tough.

I think Drew Brees is a lot easier to defend than Peyton, who has the better arm strength. Peyton has to be considered the best QB so far this season, no?

The Week 9 NFL Quarterback Power Rankings: Brady on the move - Shutdown Corner - NFL - Yahoo! Sports I guess it's a toss-up between Brees and him.

Sunday night at around 11:30PM, "Tony we kicked your ass."
Yeah, so? Rodney was part of the team that kicked the Colts butts.

He didn't say "We will kick your butts this weekend."

Geez, get a grip on the English language. It's like if you were part of a New Bedford high team that beat Fall River, you can forever say, "we kicked Durfee's butt in 1962"

Saying "They kicked Durfee's butt" would be wrong if you were part of that team.

If he's not on the team, why should he be quiet?

Because people still identify him with the patriots. It's like if he says something, people are going to think the whole team feels that way. Remember that Tiki Barber telling Eli he wasn't a good leader before the 2007 season? That helped fuel their super bowl run. If you are not on the team, you should keep your mouth shut. We don't need Rodney doing our trash talking.

maybe belichick can't tell rodney what to do. but he was the guy who brought him here to win super bowls. No one wanted rodney in 2003 except BB. He could do BB a favor. I mean it makes no sense to talk trash about peyton manning AFTER speaking with members of the CURRENT team. Honestly, if I were the pats secondary, I would feel betrayed. There is no way that the pats secondary would say that they are not afraid of peyton manning to media. Since when does Rodney speak on their behalf?

Again, Rodney's not on the team. Why should he keep quiet? "Because TommyBrady12 says so" certainly isn't going to be good enough to silence a member of the media, which is what Harrison is now. This sort of commentary happens all the time.

As for feeling betrayed, please........

This may well be the best Pats secondary in some time but it may also be the worst pass rushing defense the Pats have fielded in some time.

If we are unable to pressure Manning we could have Sanders, Haynes, Lott and Woodson in the secondary and it wouldn't make much of a difference.

Hopefully BB figures out a way to get in Manning's face.

Chung will probably be doing that. I can see he and Mayo blitzing both A-Gaps.

I still think we are giving receivers too big of a cushion. We need to jam those MFers at the line.
