i just heard Rob Ninkovich say (on air) that the door to retirement is NOT CLOSED. Mmmm it's like having that itch that won't go away!

It may be time for the Pats to put out the welcome mat. Ninko wouldn't be the first veteran to bypass training camp. The only problem, as I see it, is Ninkovich being seen as the second coming of Brett Favre.

I think he's dealing with a thigh bone bruise that calcified. Neely wasn't able to come back from that but maybe Ninko can.

We could certainly use Ninko. Hell even Ninko at 75% level of Ninko in his prime would be worth it. Please come back !

Also they had Ayers in for a visit, he was impressive as a pass rusher (4 sacks in 9 games, only 4 starts). Ninko and Ayers would be awesome. Losing Sheard, Long and Ninko turned the pass rush into the biggest weakness. They've been replaced with Cassius Marsh (an unknown), a 4th round pick (Deatrich Wise) and Kyle Van Noy.

Kinda a necessity he comes back

He wasn't the fastest guy out there when in shape, imagine now retired.

I can see it for the 2nd half of the season, first half I think it's very unlikely and 1st quarter almost impossible, BB will take the first 4 games to see where this defense is.

Think that would require additional injuries and an absolute emergency to happen. There is no way back from retirement.

Seau did it twice RIP.

Then there is Michael Jordan but that doesn't count as he is not human

I meant it more in the context of what BB has said about "when you start thinking about retirement ..."

Ah..

Agree.

re-watched SEA:KC dress rehearsal . and it doesn't look like Marsh trade is just about ST. He played on starting D (and that is some tough front 7 to break in) showed great effort, despite being undersized finds way to shed OTs and can contain them in running game with 50lbs less and also bull-rush; good tackler, played left and right DE, also interior in clear passing situations a couple of times. Can be a bit over-aggressive but bottom line is Pats have young, explosive, intriguing pass rushing option in him.

For the moment Ninko can enjoy his retirement..

EDIT: It is especially intriguing since he played over 2 quarters vs KC starters . maybe we will see more of him tomorrow on D than expected..

He's a good egg. That matters.
