There are maybe a few that remember the days when we were part of Rivals.com, a site that helped inspire what would eventually be PatsFans.com. Stephan was a big part of the growth that site experienced back then, and someone who I worked very close with for quite some time during my tenure with them before they shut down prior to changing hands. He was a straight shooter and someone I had a lot of respect for, and someone who I'm stunned is gone.

For anyone who doesn't know what happened, he's a celebrity trainer that was killed after being mauled by a bear:

This is a sad day for me, but I guess one good thing is that he was killed doing what he loved doing. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Ian

I'm very sorry to hear this. My condolences to everyone who knew him.

I didn't know him, but my condolences on the tragic loss of your friend. I saw the story on the news.
I agree with you on the fact that at least he was killed doing something that he loved.
I agree with one person that was on the news, I don't think the bear should be put down. The "expert" stated that the trainers that work with these animals know the risks involved with working with wild animals. I give people like your friend a ton of credit for doing what they do, it definately takes alot of guts.

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to all of Stephans' friends and family. I raise my glass to him.

FWIW there was a segment about it on Greta's show on Fox News tonight. I was around back in the rivals.com days, don't remember him but it's very sad.

You recognize that he was doing what he loved doing. Anybody should be so lucky to die doing what they love doing and your recognition of this should give you a sense of peace for your friend's death. While I am sure it seems too soon, the manner is a blessing.

My sincere condolences.

Deepest condolences on Stephan's death, Ian.

Wow, I saw this on the news a few days ago, but had no idea he was part of the greater PatsFans community.
