Richard Seymour: What's the deal?

OMG, I wish!! Let's trade a 3rd for him.

On Madden 2010, i always start by trading Sey for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd to the Broncos (Josh is pretty dumb on that game). Then the next season, he's a free agent, and i just resign him......If only real football was like Madden, we'd have a killer roster every season. lol. :rocker:

Because Richard Seymour will go where the money and the situation are best and where he can most easily manipulate ownership, front office and coaching staff.

And since the Raiders are a team in disease from ownership to sidelines, where better for a self-centered punk like Seymour to plant himself?

Wait until the Raiders give him four years, and countless sick millions and he "tweaks his hammy" or some other imaginary Big PuSey injury and misses 6 games his first year...won't they be happy? Couldn't happen to a nicer organization!

Good...and I do mean GOOD...riddance!

What he said. Sad to see Seymour cant feed his family on the pittence he earns in Oakland and has earned in NE.

Please find the quote where Seymour spoke about "feeding his family".

And please show us how Seymour forced the Patriots to trade him.

Yeah, he's such a bad guy for wanting to be paid fairly and stay in Oakland.

The ignorance and mean-spiritedness shown by some here is really depressing.

I'd love to get Seymour back after the 2010 season. If he remains a FA then we could have our cake and eat it too, using their early Raider #1 as a "rental fee", for Richard.

Two years older, he would be more affordable too, and I want him to retire to the HOF, as a Patriot. Meanwhile he would be a fine elder leader of the young Defense.

It never ceases to amaze me how quick people are to spend players' money or leave it on the negotiating table for them. The average NFL career is 3.3 years; I don't blame any of these guys for getting all they can get when they can get it, even if someone misspeaks about "feeding his family," which I'm not saying he did. The teams will drop them like rocks if they get hurt or can't perform any more.

I think Richard is looking for, and probably deserves, a bigger payday than the Pats would provide, but I like your way of thinking and hope, if he goes to Canton, it's as a Patriot.

I think he said the Patriots are one of the teams he wouldn't sign with anyways

Seymour hurt his knee playing fullback, while helping the Pats' offense. The guy is generally regarded as a top 3-4 DE, and now approaching 31 after all his success with the Pats wants what is likely a last big contract that will take care of him and his family for the rest of his life. I am not seeing how that makes him a bad guy.

I was genuinely sorry to see him go after all his good years with the Pats, but understood he would command a new contract price tag beyond what the Pats could afford, so he was gone anyway. I hope he gets his money. He earned it.

Immense talent and I would have loved to have kept him at the Patriots. As it worked out he's gone, we've got Oakland's first rounder in the next draft and I like to thank him for the memories.

He's gone the way of being a past Patriot and is not much else too me anymore.
