Rex Ryan says he's here to kick Belichick's @#$

Must be a typo. He probably said "kiss".

"I came here to eat some snacks and kick some ass. It looks like I'm almost out of snacks... oops nope, there are some more...

Now I'm almost out of snacks.. .wait, there are some more.

OK, now I'm really... nope, not yet.

I'll get back to you."

Somewhat telling that Rex makes it a personal issue. "I" will kick BB's ass, etc.

I wish that Rex would actually try to do something silly like that. It would be awesome to see BB thrashing Rex with a lacrosse stick while Rex gets a hernia reaching for a doughnut during the fight.

But I find it a little annoying when coaches make it sound as if he is the key component of the team. Sure he plays a critical role but so do the other coaches, supporting staff and the players. Emphasis should always be on them. The word I should only be used when you screwed up personally and need to own up.

Let's see what pronouns Rex will be using after the Jets lose to the Pats on Tuesday Morning Football! (Yeah, I am watching it in New Delhi)

Rex Ryan is exactly what the Jets and NY need heading into Foxboro. Take the heat off the players show some sass and swagger.

I don't understand how setting high expectations in the media for players playing well "takes the heat off" the players. But then again, I've read the theory of relativity numerous times and still can't explain it.

So I guess he'll kick Ordway in the back of his dome and bury it up to his shoulders cause he don't have a neck.

: I'm here to kick Belichick's ass!

Glauber: Really? How high can you kick?

: This high.

Glauber: Can I see it?

: Ow! My gut!

Glauber: So...um. How high can you kick?

: Ok, maybe this high.

Glauber: Yeah, ok. I'm having a hard time believing you could do anything that physically strenuous.

Glauber: On the bright side, we have a salad bar in our cafeteria...

Glauber: ...and doughnuts.

Glauber: Please, help yourself.

Nikolai that is freaking hilarious. :rocker:

I love hearing all these Rex Ryan quotes. All they make me do is appreciate BB's quiet "let our play do the talking" mentality even more.

Rex is perfect for NY. He makes me love to hate the Jets even more.

Oh, and Nikolai thank you for that. Freakin' awesome.

This game will be just like ours with the Saints last year only the Jets are on the receiving end.

It's just two different ways of going about it. BB is measured and likes to keep everything in house whereas Rex likes to boast and keep the Jets in the presses. He's doing a great job of keeping the Jets at the forefront of everyone's mind. BB has past accomplishment that does his PR. Rex is doing his PR by keeping the Jets in the headlines. It's smart business until it starts backfiring.

Im feeling the same thing. Kind of like last year ausbacker, a lot of talk, but then when Rex thought the season was done, before it was, he was the 1st one to jump ship and say the season was over. Then when the Jets were, some might say, handed a playoff spot, Rex went right back into Talking big, like nothing even happened. I kind of expected Rex to have more humility, but that didn't occur. disturbing flip flop.

Im not seeing how this kind of talk can end well for the jets. 9-2 is a good record and they did beat you guys once, but now they are seeming more and more like an out of control bully, or a kid drunk with power after a few successes. Either way, I dont see this ending well for them.
Im have not found any really dominate team in the NFL this year, and to state " I believe we are the best team in the NFL", creates a real miscommunication to his players on the reality of the situation, because they are not.

“I just told the truth,’’ Ryan said. “I came here to win. As much as I respect and admire Bill Belichick, I came here to kick his ass, and that’s the truth. That’s just the way it is.’’

THAT is why ~ as much as I disdain the Jets ~ I LOVE Rex Ryan.

He is just an old fashioned COWBOY.

My signature makes my expectations ~ and my wishes ~ crystal clear, I trust.

But it ASTONISHES me ~ I did not say "surprises" ~ how ANYONE can not love this Enemy.

Why would I choose to love a loud-mouth braggart? Not exactly what I'm hoping the world comes to. The world could use a lot less braggarts and a lot more humility, IMO.

Perhaps this will give you a little perspective on how some of us think.

Rex said he thinks BB is a better head coach but that doesnt mean he isnt here to kick his ass. People get offended by everything he said but Rex's talking is just what everyone else says in a lighter way or thinks. His talking puts all the pressure on him and takes the attention off his players.

Spoken like a true Jest fan. Yeah, that Gretzky guy sucked...big time. So did Barry Sanders, Hank Aaron, and Ken Griffey Jr. Might as well add Kurt Warner and Tim Duncan to that list...and probably Tyson Gay while you're at it...and so on and so on.

I find Rex entertaining, but that doesn't mean I'd want him to coach my team. You can't keep it up forever.
