Revis could have easily been the highest-paid CB in the NFL if he accepted that offer, but he chose the Pats b/c of a better chance to win.

With that info in mind, I think the Pats could again keep Revis on less money so long as they don't get overly greedy in the negotiations.

No surprise really but...lets hope!

I will take it with a grain of salt. Who in their right mind will have paid him more than we did with the film he put out there in Tampa after the knee injury?

A lot of teams...a lot. OAK, CLE ect ect. He could have been highest paid...

I wonder if he gets a ring if he changes his tune and goes for max $, will be interesting to see.

I don't think it will change anything..who knows..but if they win they said chances of him staying were better..so idk

Two teams who had crappy rosters and a lot of cap space. Translation of Howe's statement: Darrelle Revis took less money to play with the Pats than he could have gotten to be exiled to a crappy team.

We all kind of knew this really when he singed with us that he signed for us with less money. I wonder what the other offers were

Starting to wonder about the Bills being players for Revis with Rexy there now. Continue to build that elite defense. Makes coming to terms with him crucial.

Not sure what their cap situation is..but again..if revis wants SBs now and not just $$..he still won't go to Buff because unless pats are leaving the division in the next 4 years...he will have no shot with them with no QB

Other than recovering from an ACL, which he showed by the end of the season he was 100% back from there was nothing wrong with what Revis put on film in Tampa. The team sucked, Revis didn't.

This is so overrated. Why would Revis want to play for Rex Ryan when he can play for Bill Belichick?

Doubt that. I'm sure contenders wanted Revis.

FWIW, according to overthecap.com they have $120.5M committed. The Pats would have $125.8M committed if Revis was cut, so we'd certainly be in position to offer similar money.

Well if Woody said yes the second time..good chance he could have went back there as they had talks before the pats..

How quickly we forget that the Jets owner said he has lots of money for Revis. He won't go with Rex to Buffalo they don't have a QB. I think if we don't low ball him we can sign him, he likes Brady. He has a lot to prove with the Pats. There are two seasons, regular where he had 2 penalties in 16 games. Then the second season , the playoffs, the only playoff game he played with the Pats he had 2 penalties plus he was scored against. Pride vs money is a big thing.

Any ideas who?

Seattle - nope
Denver - just signed Talib
Carolina - needed secondary badly, but had cap problems
New Orleans - just spent a ton on Jarius Byrd, had cap problems
San Francisco - not sure they had the cap space, and they had major guys of their own to lock up
Arizona - they already had a #1 CB who they needed to lock up, and signed Antonio Cromartie for a fraction of the price as their #2
Green Bay - had just locked up Sam Shields with a big contract
Dallas - had major cap issues
Indy - had just locked up Vontae Davis with a big contract

You don't know that.

Ok..all of the reports must have been false them so take it up with the writers. But until we find out they were false..i will agree with the people who actually cover these issues..

Those are not knock out factors.
