Per Savage on X

Robyn Glaser was cutting costs behind the scenes for the Patriots.

She was trying to do the “opposite” of what Bill Belichick did inside of Foxboro.

Per: @dougkyed

“Former executive vice president of football business Robyn Glaser is also gone from the Patriots and out of the league. Multiple sources told the Herald that Glaser tried to cut costs around the organization to ensure they were spending more effectively.

A team source believed Glaser tried to make changes within the organization without a full understanding of what processes she was changing. When asked for an example, the source said that Glaser’s approach was to simply do the opposite of what Bill Belichick had done in several areas. Now with Vrabel aboard as head coach, a coach-centric power structure that worked for years under Belichick has returned and simplified matters.”
This is disgusting, and confirms the Krafts are the cheapest owners in the entire NFL. Trying to cut costs when they are already the lowest spending team in the league is a complete joke. I won't say the worst owners, but easily bottom 5 at this point. Robyn Glaser is a microcosm of everything wrong with the Patriots. Not a serious football organization.

I remember asking early last offseason where she fit in all this. I know some people on here said she was just a bean counter, but it seemed to me like she was meddling more in the football side of things. Then a couple of months ago when Bill Belichick was on the Pat McAfee Show after Mayo got canned, Bill specifically name-dropped Glaser when asked about what went wrong last season, which confirmed my belief that Glaser had worked her way up the ladder.
Yep. Thats exactly how I saw things as well. She was empowered by Kraft to stick her spoon in Bill's soup.

Bill knew she didn't know WTF she was doing which is why he positioned her as a decision maker....to make the Krafts look like fools.

Teddy Bruschi also made references to her on ESPN right before Vrabel was hired. Clearly there was some issues with the "collaboration ".

If there is one thing I have no tolerance for is a "cheap owner"

The NEP are worth $7.4b and made $261m in profit in 2024. That was #3 for all pro sports teams in the WORLD (behind Cowboys and Rams. Manchester United was #7 at $187m)

Look at the crap Jeremy Jacobs got back in the 80s and 90s.

John Henry (not so much recently) but over the past few years..

The Sullivans in the 80s.

Aside from losing there is nothing worse that destroys a fan's morale than a cheap owner.

I was always a Kraft backer for the longest time, but these last few years he's really made it hard to argue against the narrative that he's cheap and petty. Now, on top of the frugality and pettiness, he seems to be easily manipulated as well. I would say he needs to step aside, but I worry that Jonathan may be even worse. The post-Bill power structure seemed to be Jonathan, then Glaser, then some sort of mishmash chain of command with the coaching staff and Elliot Wolf last year. When you have a first-year HC and GM reporting to a conniving bean counter who reports to a billionaire's son, it is no surprise things were a clown show.

Take your utterly useless "contribution" to Reddit. Kraft is the cheapest owner in the entire league, and discussing it on a message board doesn't make someone a "fAkE fAn" or whatever childish nonsense you're implying here.

Let's just play the other side of the coin for a sec. Instead of being the toast of the NFL for 20 years, the team has been meh to downright lousy for the last 4. Wouldn't you, as owner, tend to tighten the purse strings in that instance?

Yep. Up until Deflategate I was a "In Kraft We Trust" guy. How he bent over to the league. Dating a woman 50 years his junior. Orchids. The Apple special. "I kept Bill around". The lack of spending...Always needs to be shown in the owners box....Hes lost his sensibilities and his control over the business.

His actions this past decade have eroded away at the goodwill he built up with the fanbase.

He needs to step back out of the spotlight.

Agree- Jonathan scares me.

I know right.. her being senior advisor to him had to present some challenges.. you could tell from all the pressers mayo did all season that he was being told what to do rather than encouraged. The whole Collorboration was a joke. My question is does wolf remain post draft?
My gut tells me Wolf sticks around throughout 2025 but if it's not working out they'll put him on a slow burn/ice him out and he is somewhere else in 2026.

He really seems like a guy ok with whatever they want him to do. From reports anyway. I would wager they'll let him stick around in some capacity and not move his family around.

Agree. What will be interesting is how his "grading system" on player talent and attributes aligns to what Vrabel/Cowden place importance on.

I think that might be the dealbreaker.

Retweet.

If he has a more modern scoring system and not the Belichickian one, it could be a game changer. Big if tho.

Yep.

I think it was Wolf who said last week from a talent evaluation standpoint the GB and Carolina scouts have the same philosophy. In their formative years, Wolf was GB and Cowden Carolina. They may be two peas in a pod. Who knows.

I really don't have an issue with Wolf. He came in at a time the franchise was starting it's decline and only got worse due to Bill's inability to adjust to the times and internal politics.

I’m a real dork……. Here’s my Harry Potter analogy:
Glaser: Delores Umbridge
Belichick: Dumbledore
RKK: Cornelius Fudge

Edit - to have more fun, Mayo: Gilderoy Lockhart

That's really the key, isn't it? He wasn't on the leading edge anymore.

Now before everyone *****es about Carolina and GB, everyone here would swap, straight up, the GB WRs for the ones on Route 1. We'd probably be happy with Legette and Theilen, too.

My lasting memory of him unfortunately is when, during the '99 loss in Philthadelphia, he started to celebrate his blocked punt and had his back turned while one of the Fecals picked-up the ball on a bounce or two and ran upfield for a 1st down...

That was the late 90’s Pats though. Their entire secondary would celebrate no matter what happened. Chris Canty danced around after causing a fumble and Lawyer Milloy would do his signature fist pump even if he tackled a guy 20 yards downfield for a 1st down. But they were ahead of the times when they’d group celebrate after a big play.

By the way, they had no business losing to the Eagles that day.

Are either GB or Carolina known for drafting well?

I will defer to others who know more about it, but I don't think the grading system makes that big of a difference and that this is a lot of moving desks around when you get a new boss at work. At the end of the day, it's more about the scouts getting the grades right rather than the system telling them where to write which numbers.
