Mayo implemented the plan that was agreed upon with the players that he had.

Really? Did he tell Kraft he would delegate the benching of players like Stevenson to his subordinates, And then have his subordinates either completely ignore or forget to pass that message on to Stevenson?

Mayo sucked. He was way out of his elements. Whoever wins the Superbowl this year, Mayo would of had them in the top 5 of the upcoming draft.

Your argument is that we got the results we should of expected is completely dismissive toward how bad Mayo was in all facets of the NFL game.

Youre taking up for your daddy Kraft.

Mayo inherited a 4 in team with no QB.

Jesus.

Why is this hard to comprehend.

5 minority coaches in 80 years and your take is that that's not because they been boxed out but because THERE WAS NO QUALIFIED MINORITY to be hired.

1 every 16 years on avg.

Imagine actually taking the position that no more than 5 minority coaches in 8 decades was qualified for the job.

Mathematical improbability.

The mathematical improbability stems from your ignorance. You seem to be confusing the total number of current minority head coaches (which almost assuredly will go up as the vast majority of the open HC positions have yet to be filled) with the total number of minority coaches in NFL history. For reference there were 9 minority HCs at the beginning of the 2024 season.

No.

You're ignorance is that only 5 coaches hired over EIGHTY years stems from their abilities as a coach and not from something more nefarious.

For the record. Two of those 5 coaches was Tony Dungy and Danny Green.

If you're trying to say that there were only 5 minority head coaches before the Rooney rule then you're still wrong.

Anyway. Is this the part where you argue black vs minority definition?

Give me a break.

And to think that this started with you unsolicitedly calling me ignorant.

Enjoy your 4 years.

This same league you're so worried about patronizing people hired only 5 black coaches in 80 years. Five dawg.

But you right. They were strictly hiring the best candidate and minorities were super unqualified in those 8 decades.

Nothing to see here at all!
You’re obsessed with that “5 in 80 years” stat. If you want to remain in the 20th Century, then you have a point. There was undeniable racial bias when it came to the hiring and promotion of black head coaches.

Meanwhile those of us living in the 21st Century can see how far the League has come and there is little, if any, evidence of bias anymore. There were 9 HCs of color last year, including our own, and let’s face it…. The days of “superior results” are long gone…. The HCs of color are just as likely to suck as the white ones.

Or do you think it was racism which led Kraft to fire Mayo..?

I'm obsessed with facts.

The fact is that without the NFL forcing the owners to interview minorities then they will not extend them that courtesy.

This isn't about racism. This is about facts. The Rooney rule ushered in a spike in minority coaching hires. That's a fact.

The fact that you can sit there and call me out about living in the past with a straight face and say that the league has shown little, if any bias without acknowledging the fact that that is literally because of the progress made under the Rooney rule is telling.

Like seriously. Are you unwilling, incapable of ignoring the fact that the increase in minority coaching coincides with the implementation of the Rooney rule? You deny this?

Obviously you're making the same point I'm making but I'm confused as to whether or not you know that?

I never accused Kraft of being racist.

Newsflash: That’s not a fact. That is you belief in what would happen under a hypothetical situation.

If this was 1979, I’d probably agree. But those of us living in the 21st Century can see how that’s no longer the case.

If “this is about facts” then I suggest you learn what a fact is, and stop confusing facts with things you think might happen if a certain hypothetical situation, which doesn’t exist, existed.

It's a fact that when left up to their own devices. NFL owners will not hire minorities as their head coach.

5 in the 80 years leading up to the Rooney rule is proof in this absolute fact.

I suggest you learn what a fact is. Just like the poster before who denied this fact and mysteriously disappeared when it was backed with proof.

Also it is insanely clear to me that you don't even know what I'm arguing.

Why is it in 1979 you agree with me but in 2025 you do not agree with me that in the 80 years leading up to the Rooney rule (news flash, that includes 1979) that the NFL was absolutely not hiring minorities at the head coaching position?

Which part of that are you saying isn't true?

Glory hallelujah Bob Krafts truth is marching on.

Just make sure you stand your ground. For years and years and years. Decades even.

That you sir are claiming that Mayo was unjustly fired and that just giving 5 more years he may of turned in a winning season.

Hold the line. No matter how immeasurable it may seem or how heavy the burden gets.

He earned his firing. He never should of been hired in the first place.

But I'm guessing you were banging that drum in the Mayo press conference thread.

You might be a liberal if you Complain about the lack of black NFL HCs from one side of your mouth and cheer the firing of Mayo from the other side of your mouth.

Mayo being fired has nothing to do with race. That's a embarrassing take for anyone to make.

False

He was hired because of race.
