Re: Amendola travels with team, Gronk doesn't

So, where does Edelman fit in with Amendola back? Spell Amendola on a few snaps and take snaps away from Dobson?

Re: Amendola travels with team, Gronk doesn't

think danny plays...starting him in FF this week :rocker:

Re: Amendola travels with team, Gronk doesn't

It's good to get one back. I just pray not to see Amendola come up limping after finishing a route and then not see him for another 5 weeks.

Re: Amendola travels with team, Gronk doesn't

1) Amendola may have restricted snaps tomorrow.

2) Ask Brady6. His thread argues that Edelman may be a better slot receiver than Amendola.

3) I agree with your analysis. When Amendola and Thompkins are healthy, they are on the field on almost all series. Dobson and Edelman will split #3/#4 WR reps.

BOTTOM LINE
Given that Edelman is the only one of the top4 receivers that is healthy (and the fact that we have no Gronk), Edelman is likely to have more reps than any of the other receivers. Brady needs at least 3 targets (plus a RB).

I think the pecking order between Thompkins and Dobson is a work in progress. A week or 2 ago, it seemed Dobson was taking the lead then last week he was injured and Thompkins had a strong game.
It could go the other way very quickly.

Re: Amendola travels with team, Gronk doesn't

Is this the game we see the Pats go 4-wide and bring some tempo? If Hall sits they might have an advantage against that secondary.

I would love to see some no huddle.

I am going to be so nervous his first few plays to see how he is/runs

Definitely. Collie, Amendola, Edelman and "Dobskins" against a secondary starting three backups and a JAG to be named later. The Bengals pass rush is the only concern.

Brady will be firing at the snap to the smurfs with the occasional throw up the seams to Thompkins and Dobson.

The media speculation was not correct, the injury was not as severe as some suggested, he never was close to needing or ever would have benefited from surgery, and 4 weeks is comfortably enough for the injury to heal to the point it is as strong as prior to the injury. Therefore his running/cuts will be fine and his chance at injury no more than normal.
And if you (or someone else) will believe that, it sure will help me believe it too

Seriously, we've went this long without seeing DA (and certain others) and are 4-0. I tell you what, I hope BB is taking the cautious approach with DA and the Cincy game isn't a 'OK, let's see how the injury holds up'. If that is the case I'd rather see DA held out to get closer 'certain health' which, ideally IMHO, would be for the back to back division games (Jets-Phins) starting two weeks from today.
