I don't know how much longer Steve Neal will be playing. Not much longer than a year or two, I think.

TJ Lang is a mauler whose priority is to play in the NFL ten years from now.

Why not if he's there in the third round.

If he gets on top of his injuries, he could be here for 3-5 years yet. He is born 10/9/1976.

Players tend to work extra hard to stay in great shape when they get older and play for the pats, If he played for the raiders, well thats a totally different story,

I agree we need a OG, but not just for Neal. Also a replacement for Mankins and Hochstein.

Why do they need a replacement for Mankins?

As it stands right now, He's an RFA next year.

Hochstein and Yates are on one year deals, as are Connelly and Johnson. I would like someone who potentially upgrades that interior reserve slot to compete with them. As mentioned, T.J. Lang looks like a very good prospect.

We did it with Rich Ohrnberger of JoePa U.

He looks more of a Hochstein type player. Can play OG and C, has a nasty demeanor, but isn't really big or talented enough to be anything more of a backup.

Lang is NASTY!!!!!! Ohrnsberger is a luxury pick/Hochstein replacemernt, however I was expecting someone who was more NASTY and more of a pure drive blocker.

Seeing that they basically traded Hobbs for him I think he is thought to have more upside. I dont see Mankins resigned.....Gs can be replaced too easily. I can see us keeping 1-2 of the Mankins/Neal/Connoly/Yates/Hochstien next year, which leads to a significant turnover unless they can slide Kazcur to G.

George Bussey, another undersized offensive lineman. Sigh.

I am all for a replacement for Neal next year, but do they all have to be so tiny?!

BB must think highly of this guy,, he went thru alot of hoops to get him.

Must have had a high grade on their board, and as they watched him slide they got antsy and jumped in.

Thought someone on here quoted a radio personality that stated that the Pats were real high on him and thought he could start some time this year, Wouldn't be the first time a 4th round guard did good in this league.

I'm hopeful for all picks,,,,,

That makes me feel marginally better. Do you remember who said that about Bussey? If BB thinks he can start his rookie year, then I'm all for the move. Marginal CB/KR --> starting guard at half the price. Good value, smart business, excellent football management. Man, I love how BB works. I just wish I were less confused each year; I spent so much time learning about all the players that I was sure I would know about each of our picks this year, but a couple guys still surprised me. Ah well, at least we got my favorite safety.

This guy is a little smaller than I expected, especially with some of the other prospects still on the board. What the heck did Meredith do to turn off Dante so badly?

He has a reputation for being a bit soft. Ohrnberger is supposedly tough as nails. I think tough was a big part of what the Pats wanted on OL. Beatty had a bit of a soft rep too, whereas Vollmer is a big tough kid. Trevor Canfield and TJ Lang fit the bill, but the Pats obviously liked Ohrnberger. Rumor has it they loved him, and think he could be a starting guard for them, so it sounds like they are targeting him as Neal's eventual replacement. Based on their success with Mankins, gotta give them the benefit of the doubt.

Another thing to factor in with these PSU off linemen. PSU prefers smaller, athletic off. linemen instead of the big maulers. Not unlike the Pats. However, there is some controversy about their strength/cond. program. They use a HIT system. More reps than power. Not as much in the free weights as other schools. Maybe a year with Wojcik can put 10-15 lbs of muscle onto Ohrnberger.

I guess they must really like him, because other sites had him as an UDFA type.

That makes more sense, then. Still, I'm a tad disappointed.

Oh, could you explain the Myron Pryor pick to me? You seem to be much more level-headed about this whole process; I'm an emotional basketcase today. (Of course, that's probably because I'm as sick as a dog, but you know, it's nice and dramatic.) I'd have preferred a different lineman, or even a RB like Jennings.

Yes, ALL PRO Guards like Mankins just grow on trees.

Sorry, but you can't replace guards that easily and its folly to think so. If what you said was true, the O-line wouldn't have stunk so badly last year with Yates and Hochstein trying to play in Neal's spot.

And no, They can't just slide Kaczur over. No matter how many people think that they can just do something.

Was talking about Ohrnberger, same rumour that MC referred to

sorry it wasn't clear, thought we were talking Guard position
