If Vrabel was just doing the normal thing a man in this situation has done like banging some broad from a bar or an onlyfans model the story would already be gone.

It's because it's an NFL reporter it's much juicier, he's around them all the time for work.

Cowboys fans are delusional. They haven’t been relevant since the early 90’s, but if you ask them they’re still “America’s Team.”

We never really beat the tar out of the Cowboys, ask the teams we climbed over on the way to the top. It’s a wide cross section and spread out across the country.

Yeah methinks this was a known story that had been brewing for a long time and a spouse finally ponied up.

The amount of self delusion is mind boggling. First you have the people with their heads in the sand saying the evidence against Vrabel is only circumstantial. Then you have people suggesting "well we don't know that the Vrabels don't have an open marriage".

It is mind boggling how something so simple and so obvious could breed such idiocy.

Since we as fans are invested in the Pats its crucial to know whats going on.

Interest from here makes sense but I meant national media. I find the outrage about it nuts given that these insiders are nothing but mouth pieces for teams and player agents. It is getting more air time than the NFL union and Clippers scandals which is just absurd.

The whole discourse about journalism and partiality is also ludicrous as insiders have none of it and are not journalists. I also don't think players will care either so I am not worried about that. It is just the distraction aspect of it which has potential to impact our season.

Anyways, presumption of innocence is a court thing, not a public opinion thing. Vrabel isn't going to jail for this. It's easy to call a spade a spade.

Not only is presumption of innocence a court thing, but the phrase is "presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."

So even if one was inclined to afford Vrabel the presumption of innocence, his guilt has been proven beyond any reasonable doubt whatsoever.

Your second paragraph illustrates why this is purely PR. I am sure he is trying to put his personal life together. Going to counseling or whatever else he will be doing will not impact anything if it starts a day later. Him making it look like he is sacrificing for his family is just that, for the looks.

I had no clue and still don't understand why this blew up so much. But stuff like this just gives it more oxygen.

It still has oxygen. This is the attempt to burn off all of that oxygen in one go, or as much of it as possible.

The first media session was 100% on Mike's terms. Nothing on the calendar till the last minute. Beat reporters in the building for OTAs. Send out the word, Mike will talk in a few minutes. No live video feeds. Every advantage goes his way.

Great time to get that first round over with, but now the field of battle favors the media. It's a set piece. Coaches speak to the media after each day of the draft, always have, always will. Not just beat reporters present, not just top-shelf local media, but top-shelf national media with top-end video crews. Absolute worst venue from Vrabel's point of view.

So, how to steal a day's march? Drop this kind of announcement the morning of the draft. The man is going with his family to a weekend-long counselling session out-of-state. This screams "respect our privacy!". Whomever tries to pierce the veil will get the almighty stink-eye from Mike and go to the top of his **** list. If they are too dumb to figure this out in advance, they will pay the price later.

Looking at the alleged kissing photo, I cannot tell if Vrabel is leaning in for a kiss or he is leaning over the bar to maybe get the bartender's attention. Could be a kiss, but the angle looks like the picture could be misleading since Vrabel's head looks it could be more over the bar than next to Russini's head.

At this point, I don't know if they deserve the benefit of the doubt. But if they were openly having an affair in public for years with public PDA, you would think this would have come out already.
