Reiss:Similarities to 2010 a notable history lesson for team

That first interception really sucked ass. Didn't help that BB couldn't just give Welker a break and let him play the first drive too. Like, I understand the whole respecting other coaches thing but it's the playoffs. Figure out some other way of disciplining him. Not that it broke the camel's back or anything.

It wasn't about respecting other coaches, it was about insubordination. BB told all the players not to touch it. Doubt he cared that much about respecting Rex - prob more about not generating media distractions.

When Welker disobeyed orders he was disrespecting BB, not Rex.

I think a huge part of the reason fans talk down the 2010 team is so they don't have the uncomfortable fear of something like that happening to this team. It absolutely could. Anything can happen this is sports.

That said I think we are winning the Super Bowl, no doubt, just like I did in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2007....

In hind sight it is absurd that he benched Welker in a playoff game like that. Ridiculous and hypocritical.
What about it was hypocritical?

2010 defense had a real knack for turning the ball over, it was DMAC's rookie year at CB where he notched 7 picks.

But that was pretty much it. Worst pass rush in the BB era.
That team dominated the NFL and it was a total Choke job they lost in playoffs. They crushed everyone including the Steelers who they would have had for the AFCCG.

Gronk and Hernandez were rookies, Chung was a 2nd year player first year starter etc...that was a very young team.

Yup, I was one of the few people on these boards who was worried about the Jets game that year and it was because of all the rookies. Gronk and Hernandez but also McCourty. And Chung was in his first starting year. That was a young team and I was afraid of them just not being ready. The 2016 is a seasoned team that is all about learning from their mistakes. I hope they all are forced to watch that game.

The Banks and Reiss articles tells me that people are straining to look for ways the Pats can lose. That's because they have been stellar the last few weeks. Reiss is right though; you still have to play each game.

Hmmm.. I work with another Pats fan here in NY. Neither of us felt positive about the 2011 Super Bowl team. That was essentially the same team as the 2010 team.

Wasn't that the same season Edelman played corner

Because the offense almost never turned the ball over, and the defense was able to turn the ball over.

and they barely lost and should have won. Basically the same thing as 2014, except reverse the result. 2010 and 2011 teams has just as good a chance as this years team.

2010 was a choke

Has Floyd mouthed off to the media in direct violation of a BB order?
Not that I am aware of. But he surely is guilty of something quite serious.

How about this.. Would Welker had been in any kind of dog house if he started his own magazine called the "WW Times" that made fun of the teams they beat? He didn't like Welker.

The win against the Dolphins in their stadium gives me confidence. Especially the opening drive.

Another ridiculously stupid article.....you can't compare the defenses.....you can't even compare the offenses

people love to pull **** out of their asses

Its not even close. 2016 would blow that team out of the water.

The 2010 team was a nice team to start the new dynasty. New attitude. New culture

Its become painfully obvious the 2010 team has massive deficiencies on defense, the run game and play-making on the outside. Defensively they had no one who could cover. Other than VW, Mayo, Chung and DMC they had a lot of smoke and mirrors.

2010's defense was pure garbage masked by turnovers. This defense doesn't need to rely on turnovers to get stops. Big difference.
