If the Sox win game 1 that would be huge for the series. It is hard to give Sale the nod over Kershaw with Sale being hurt right now. LA, at least in game 1, probably felt they had the starting pitcher advantage. To take this game from them would throw a big wrench into their potential path to victory over the Sox.

Next time Sale and Kershaw meet the gap will only be smaller as Sale gets healthier.

I’d look at moving Sale in the offeason. When it matters most, he can’t do it. Health or whatever, he needed to be better and he flat out sucked. 4 innings doesn’t count as a good start.

I think he’s still a reasonable costing pitcher, considering his role. He’s still worth keeping due to his (mainly first half) regular season victories. Price is a different story due to cost, although there’s not much they can do there.

I doubt that. There is no way this series doesn't see game 6 IMO. LA doesn't have the ceiling Houston did but they are less likely to under preform IMO. They have been consistently one of the best teams for years.

Agreed. If the top of the order produces just 1 run every time we see them (1-3 batters) then you don't need much help from the rest of your lineup to put the other team in a tough situation.

Maybe. Kershaw sucked more which is incredible. I dunno. If he is breaking down now, how much longer does he have? What could you get for him? It’s worth feeling out.

They won’t do it of course, but in Boston the PS counts. If you can’t be there be it health or performance...
