Red Sox 2018...WORLD SERIES...CHAMPIONS!!!

Pats game or Red Sox game Sunday night? Pats game all the way baby...

Both but mostly Pats game. ALCS will be only game 2 and the Chiefs game is going to be a barometer on measuring how good the Pats really are right now and has some huge bye implications.

If we are going to win it all, Price needs to be good at some point. Sale might not win every start and Porcello/Eovaldi are not likely to be good every time out. Remember they both sucked the next time out after their great starts versus NY in August.

This is really what it comes down to for me as well. If they had another strong option for their 4th starter, I might feel different, but at this point it's either Price or Rodriguez, and neither has bathed themselves in glory thus far. So Price has to start somewhere, and there are "benefits" to each slot. Game 2 gives you the day off the next day, so if you have to empty the pen, you've got an extra recovery day. Game 4 guarantees he only gets one start. Pick your poison, and they chose option A.

My plan is Sox on the TV until the Pats game starts. Then Pats on the TV with Sox on my iPad, with the option to swap if the Sox game ends up more compelling than the Pats toward the end.

I'm starting to come around on the Sox having a better than puncher's chance of winning this series.

There is no doubt the HOU pitching staff will keep the Sox bats controlled. I don't see them giving anything for Mook, JD, Benny or Xander to hit. Walk 'em and let the others beat them.

However offensively HOU is not as good as they were last year. With the exception of a couple of players, every regular in their lineup has not been as good in 2018 compared to 2017.

Agreed. Altuve put up good numbers but a very noticeable dropoff from his MVP season last year.

Springer is still a pest though. No reason why this guy kills the Red Sox like he does. Hammered the Sox last year in the ALDS and this season he bat 100 points above his actual average vs the Sox.

Houston’s pitching is very good, but not petrifying. Cole and Charlie Morton are not HOFers. You can try and say you won’t let certain people beat you, but the Sox seem really good at putting up crooked numbers. When people get on base, your ability to pitch around Betts and Martinez diminishes greatly.

Yep.

...and Correa hit a couple of dingers last year vs us as well. Hes got a bad back. Not the same player.

Worth watching for sure. He has not been good since coming back from injury and didn't do much against Cleveland in the ALDS.

Yep and that is dependent of JBJ having a very good series.

Devers did well last year but not sure how much time he'll see.

Something I thought of recently, that I'm sure has been brought up before but I'll repeat it anyway. If the Red Sox manage to pull out a WS win this year, they'll have won 4 in a span 15 years, with:

- 3 different Managers (Francona, Farrell, Cora)
- 4 different Aces (Pedro/Schilling, Beckett, Lester, Sale)
- 4 different Closers (Foulke, Papelbon, Uehara, Kimbrell)

Man could we use 2013 Koji right now...

My man:

Barstool Sports

(50s video; guy wakes up from anesthesia and immediately talks trash about the Yankees).

Keuchel is also a lot more ordinary this season compared to last season. He's allowed the most hits in baseball and his ERA+ this year is just 108 which is nothing special.
