Assume that the contract for one of the four free agent RBs would be between 1-3 million a year.

It would be between Blount or Jones-Drew for me, but I chose Blount. Experience in the system and is the more physical runner.

Blount. He knows the scheme and is probably the best fit of the options. To add to that, he's a cost effective addition.

I always prefer a back that can play all 3 downs and that can block. Barring contract, I prefer MJD and Moreno.

Blount. Gives us the best spread of options. Blount is the pounder, Ridley is the traditional runner, and Vereen is the 3rd down/2-min guy. I see Bolden as a poor man's version of all three, potentially. Good enough to back them up, but not a guy you want to rely on.

Kinda leaning towards Moreno. He can do it all, run block and catch out of the backfield. Blount is probably the best pure runner though.

Blount the battering ram

I lean toward MJD. He can play in the pass game.

Do we really want to see the Pats in potentially the same situation as last year and have Brandon Bolden as the 3rd down/pass catching RB.

Plus that guy put up seasons of 1300, 1300 and 1600 yards just a few seasons ago when teams were stacking the box because he was their only offensive threat.

Wouldn't sign any of them over anything slightly more than a million. Draft pick. Maybe Moreno to compete with both Ridley and Vereen on a cheap deal.

My RB wish is that when Shane Vereen is on the field we hand the ball off to him, because it's so damn obvious right now that whenever he is on the field we are passing.

I love Blount and would be thrilled if he re-signs, but if I had my preference I'd pick Moreno. He's Doug Martin lite - 5'11" 220#, powerful enough to be effective inside, quick enough to break it outside, and most importantly a good receiver. We need to integrate the RBs in the passing attack more. Moreno and Vereen would give us 2 RBs who are legitimate receiving threats, with Ridley available to be the pounder and 4th quarter "closer" to wear down defenses when we have a lead. 60 receptions for 548 yards and 3 receiving TDs - that's what tips the scales for me.

I'd like to see Bolden replaced regardless of whatever else happens.

Blount like other said he knows the offense but more importantly has been relatively healthy.

Jones-Drew/Brown/Moreno can play all three downs but I worry about their ability to stay healthy and last a full season.

Moreno would be a nice addition but I think he's out BB's price range for a RB.

The better choice is Blount, I hope he can improve his catching abilities a lot on training camp. IIRC against the Browns he made a great catch and got a good YAC, playing in that mode would give us a ferocious offense.

Liked what I saw from Blount at the end of the season and the Atlanta game. Running hard and oline making holes. However I do remember the 3 yards and a cloud of dust games too.
I'd probably go Moreno or Brown. Although I like Ridley best if he could just hold onto the ****ing ball.

I like Blount, if we re-sign him, I would like to add a guy in the draft who is a bit more lightning, kind of like Bryce Brown from the Eagles. Can catch the ball, but more of a speed guy to offset the power.

I'd like to see Bolden replaced regardless of whatever else happens.

Why? He's a serviceable backup who's averaged 5 yds a carry, can catch the ball a little and hasn't had a fumble. We need to have some depth, and Vereen hasn't exactly been Jim Marshall his first 3 years. Chances of him missing some time are almost a lock.

Would prefer to draft someone like Andre Williams in the mid-to-late rounds. Younger, cost-controlled, and could end up being something special.

I would only sign Blount, he gives us something that Ridley, Vereen, Bolden do not, and I do not feel that to be the case for the other players you listed.
