This is really interesting. Someone leaked the Polk IR news to the media and Vrabel was not ready for it. The player being the rat makes no sense. Neither does the agent. "Rats around here." This sounds like a staffer. Vrabel would not call his coaches rats. He would dump them first. So what staff is he referring to?

I don't think they wanted to IR him which was why Vrabel was pissed. It would be a "who's on 1st?" situation like last year had he refuted it and released him.

Having rats in your organization is a problem, but can be weaponized if you can find out who they are and use them to float bad info that hurts your opponent. That's not some sort of Sun Tzu or Confucius, its just how basic information warfare works. The game on Sunday isn't the whole game, Belichick knew this. There's Psyops, electronic warfare, deception, information security (loose lips...), human intelligence collection called "scouting" in the NFL, etc. All part of a holistic approach to win on Sundays.
I hope Mike finds the rats soon, having them is a bad sign for the organization's professional health.
