I haven’t listened to sports radio since deflategate, but I still know his one thing is true-those two assholes are going to play contrarian no matter what the issue is. That’s their entire schtick. It’s a shame because Felgrr could have chosen t be an intelligent sports journalist, but instead he took the easy way out, just try to piss people off every day to get attention. And Masserotti is just a lap dog moron.
This times 100

Groh is not in charge of player personnel?

He's currently down at the Senior Bowl, and then there's this page on the team website that states his title as:

front-office-roster

It will be interesting to see what the philosophy is going forward in FA and draft. His Dad was an amazing GM.
Was his dad in charge of the Packers during that period where they basically didn’t sign free agents and pretty much relied on drafting and signing their good picks to long-term contracts?

Yes, Green Bay was never a large market and Ron Wolf was an exceptional GM.

My optimism for his son is rooted in this fact.

He was there during the 90s

Right, I just recall that Green Bay never was a big player in free agency and relied on drafting really well for their success.

Reggie White was their big ticked FA (1993) and Andre Rison during the 1996 season, but he had some really good drafts that set up their back to back Super Bowls.

Signing a FA to help put a team over the top is the way to go, not building a team though it. Wolf relied on drafts and trades (Favre).

my bad
He seems to have kept the title.

I agree that Groh is in charge of evaluating college talent, perhaps including scouting.
========

For me, perhaps incorrectly, I believe that Wolfe will make decisions with regard to evaluating NFL talent and in making decisions regarding signing players, and in choosing the 53man squad.
==========
Perhaps this is semantics; if so I apologize. However, to me, regardless of title, being in charge of player personnel means being in charge, in some way, of NFL players, more than evaluation of college player evaluation.
