Regular season, yes. That would be hard since he had only 299 regular season carries.
He did take some handoffs in the playoffs however, where he averaged 3.1 ypc.

By "first" you mean turning down Butler's asking price for well over a year and then going out and making an outsider the highest paid defensive player in franchise history on the very first day of free agency? No reason to think that they paid Burkhead ''over'' Blount or Gilmore ''over'' Butler. ''Signed first'' rarely means ''signed instead of.''
In each case the budget can probably contain both men if they want it. Plenty of cap space to go around. You need more than one RB or CB to win championships anyways. And neither Gilmore or Burkhead play their yet-to-be-signed counterpart's exact role.
Just because they paid these other guys first doesn't mean that Burkhead got any of Blount's money or Gilmore got any of Butler's
After losing a completely different cornerback in free agency, yes. Am I the only one that remembers Logan Ryan? Belichick met the market for Gilmore largely to replace Ryan on the roster. It has nothing whatsoever to do with Butler, whose agent has been making unreasonable demands based on Butler's bargaining position ath Belichick is under no obligation to attempt to meet. There is no indication that Belichick intends to do anything other than have Butler on his roster going forward.By "first" you mean turning down Butler's asking price for well over a year and then going out and making an outsider the highest paid defensive player in franchise history on the very first day of free agency?
Yes, with DMac counting as an 11m dollar cap hit and Gilmore pulling in a 13.5m dollar AAV, it's not only safe to assume that Butler probably isn't in the team's long term plans, but also that some of the money that may have gone to him went towards bringing Gilmore aboard.
Butler and Blount may feel that way but emotions have a way of being dead wrong. We had to replace a cornerback regardless of whether or not Butler stays, enter Gilmore. Burkhead is just a good investment since he's a solid jack of all trades who BB seems to think will play well in his system. The guy who should be looking over his shoulder with the signing of Burkhead is Deion Lewis, not Blount.I think we can agree that the signing of those players certainly doesn't prevent the other ones from staying, but I can definitely see why Butler and Blount may feel that other options were chosen over them. As another poster mentioned, there's not much loyalty here, and there's certainly not a tendency to pay for past production. The good news for us is that their system works very well.
I agree with you about Lewis needing to look over his shoulder, but I'm not getting the idea of replacing a slot CB with the top outside corner free agent on the market this year. If they wanted Ryan, they could've had him at a much lesser cost. After losing a completely different cornerback in free agency, yes. Am I the only one that remembers Logan Ryan? It's a far better argument that Burkhead 'replaced' Blount than that Gilmore "replaced" Butler.
i don't think that's safe to assume at all, With the cap going up at a remarkable rate, a few large contracts in pass protection only make sense. Especially because we have some nice cost savings at the moment on offense due to having a lot of youth and lesser-paid veterans on the O-line and at RB.

Blount deleted it but nothing is really lost online:
