Right now the NFC looks wide open. Rank these teams from best to worst.

Saints, Packers, Bears, 49ers, Rams, Seahawks, Cowboys, Lions.

All have winning records and have looked very good at points this year.

It would be possible to make an argument for any of them having a chance to make the super bowl.

Honestly, I don't know what to make of 49ers. I think we will have to wait and see if that team is a legitimate contender. Saints are also tough to rank because while the rest of the team is excellent, I don't think Teddy can hold the team afloat before Drew Brees returns.

Packers and Seahawks are first/second for me since they have the best healthy QBs in the conference. Bears, Lions, and Rams are good teams with some noticeable flaws.

Cowboys will never achieve anything further than the NFC Championship game with Jason Garrett as HC.

Please...I’d love to hear your argument for the Lions in the Super Bowl.

According to what?

The quality of players on their team. You can't seriously tell me Philly is worse than Green Bay (whom they beat), Detroit, and the Bears? If Detroit belongs on the list, so do the Eagles.

Seahawks, the best qb in nfc, decent defense
Cowboys, most balanced? decent qb play, good defense
Saints, this high, only if Brees returns healthy... too high here with Bridgewater
Rams, goff isnt good, defense is
Bears, trubinski isnt good, the defense is
Packers, they got rodgers, who is good, defense is over rated
49ers, Kyle Shanahan is over rated. Jimmy G isnt what we thought he was
Lions, Matthew stafford and who?

Eagles should be 3/4/5, in that range at least, if wentz can stay on the field.

Here's my ranking of each of those teams:

Saints - would lose SB54 to NE by 7 points
49ers - would lose SB54 to NE by 7 points
Bears - would lose SB54 to NE by 10 points
Packers - would lose SB54 to NE by 17 points
Rams - would lose SB54 to NE by 20 points
Seahawks - would lose SB54 to NE by 21 points
Cowboys - would lose SB54 to NE by 23 points
Lions - would lose SB54 to NE by 28 points

I honestly can’t rank these teams right now. No one is pulling ahead far enough. I just can’t quite go all in on Seattle yet.

(But yes I could definitely rank the Lions last out of these teams. ;))

I agree not an easy group of teams to pick from. I fancy Seattle to be strong this season along with New Orleans especially if Teddy can manage them through this period and then Brees comes back. I don't believe the Lions or the Bears will be anywhere close come the end of the year. The Rams seem to have gone backwards from last year and Rodgers doesn't look quite the same so far this year. Cowboys look a fairly complete team and should be make the playoffs but like the 49ers have beaten some rubbish so far.

I’m glad the Patriots play in the AFC. This is almost LeBron/East-like. They have typically always had a tough conference champion opponent (conferences roughly equal at top-2 level), but the depth of the AFC has been lagging way behind the NFC for years now. I mean, a divisional game opponent like Houston or Tennessee of recent years is arguably not even a playoff caliber team in the NFC.

For whatever reason the NFC has almost all the good quarterbacks, as compared to the NBA where the west has all the top individual players.
