I was impressed with him in Baltimore and his athletic ability. Yet, I have admit in the Bucs game the other night he looked more like Tully-Banta Cain then Brian Urlacher.
Are there many 270 Lb ILBs?
Are there many 270 Lb ILBs?
Care to explain why? Despite AD being an OLB for the Ravens, he has the physical and mental abilities to be an excellent ILB for NE. And having him in the SILB spot lets Bruschi and Vrabel play their better postions. It seems to make the *most* sense for AD to be inside.
Unless you are saying that he won't be good enough to play there at the start of the season, which is somewhat reasonable.

Not too many, but there are a few around the league. Ones I can think of: Shawne Merriman, Shaun Phillips is close at like 263 I believe, Vrabel is about 263 as well, Anthony Spencer the rook for Dallas is a shade under 270 and Greg Ellis has played some lb'er at about 280 I think. So to answer, not many. The thing to remember is who knows how official some of these weight listings actually are.
On a side note, I recall reading the TBC showed up to niner camp way overweight/out of shape, so I guess he could be up there, but not in a way that is advantageous though.
EDIT: I just noticed you said ILB, so that pretty much makes the whole post moot unless you count the times Vrabel has played inside.
This reporter lost me two words into the article.
He was obviously reporting on some other team that plays in "FOXBOROUGH, MASS." Honestly, when they guy can't even get the name of the town right, how much weight can you give to his reporting? Mr. Craig, the New England Patriots play in Foxboro. Moron.
Last one i can think of is Levon Kirkland
You do realize it is spelled both ways. Not just Foxboro. Its also spelled Foxborough.

Defensive breakdown. The defense struggled getting the correct personnel on the field at one point, which cornerback Ellis Hobbs explained led to a full-unit lap around the field. Coaches Pepper Johnson and Matt Patricia also took the lap. As the leader of the defense from the MIKE inside linebacker spot, Adalius Thomas spent some one on one time with Bill Belichick after the breakdown, talking things over. The overall practice lasted a bit longer than normal as the overall mistakes extended the workout.
The local press sure played it down, Reiss even listed it as his fifth and last observation from Tuesday's practice.
