QBs that might interest the Pats

He can run, fast... 4.5 range, and he can throw... Defenses will have a hard time game planning when he comes in especially when we line up in the spread offense with so much running room to make something happen.

This isn't meant facetiously, but isn't that pretty much Kevin O'Connell minus 5 inches and 30ish pounds?

i dont think we will take another QB from Texas Tech. i dont remember the guys name, but i recall us drafting a QB from there a bunch of years ago and he never did anything. the qb;s from Texas Tech all fit the same mold. they make quick reads, and do so well, but usually lack the ideal size and arm strength required for nfl Qb

KO won't be returning kicks and splitting out at WR. They are different players. I see Pat White as an ARE type of player. Versatile on ST and Offense. Another poster compared him to Troy Brown. Hrrm. I hadn't thought about it that way, but that's an interesting thought. Could be worth a 3rd or 4th round pick. I wonder if BB sees something in him?

Well, that would be a matter of choice on Belichick's part; on occasion, SDSU did use O'Connell as a receiver on some trick plays, and he doesn't look too shabby.

There are NO QBs in this draft worth considering and that includes the Georgia boy.

New to the board- a 34 year Patriots fan. Thought I would throw out a late rd qb for discussion. Todd Boeckman-Ohio State. Could be a Patriot type prospect like Cassel. Smart-good size-rarely got to play-but has tools to lead in the Pat's system.

We have no need for two inexperienced quarterbacks. We have our developmental quarterback who will be our #2. I expect a veteran like Huard or nothing.
Almost certain to draft a QB in 6/7 round or a UDFA for training camp reps. Just about always go with four QBs in TC. If the guy is good, he'll go on IR with a shoulder injury. Otherwise he'll be cut.

Well..he's got the prototypical size and good pedigree. But it's a bit disingenuous to say he rarely got to play. He started for the Buckeyes for the first half of the year...and I think he started several games last year too. He got benched after a string of poor performances.

I'd take him as a camp arm to see what he has, but I wouldn't use a pick on him, nor would I expect much from him. Unlike Cassel, there's plenty of film on Boeckman.
