Patriot punter Ryan Allen set an obscure but cool record on Sunday night by booting a 64-yarder that is the record for longest punt in Super Bowl history. That ought to get him a beer in every bar he ever walks into. Congratulations!

He's old enough to drink!?! (JK)

I am so happy we have him. Best roster move ever. I was in camp Mesko.

Was surprised he beat Mesko. But obv the right move. Is Zoltan even in the leagues n'y ore ?

Huh, I had no idea because there were several more flashy and significant records but great for him! Ryan's done quite a good job for us, as has Gostkowski. Our ST was excellent this year and certainly made an impact. Very unsung, credit where credit is due.

Edelman better let that man make a smoothie

Seattle had a 61-yard punt of its own.

Wow, even I don't remember that. I was a nervous wreck anyway, but I really don't remember it. The Patriots broke all kinds of records on Sunday. This is turning out to be the most satisfying of the SB wins. I didn't think anything could feel better than the Rams. But this is starting to turn that way for me.

anyone have a clip of him being run into? my tv f-up during that sequence.

Most people were in Camp Mesko. I was too. The most outspoken person I could remember was @DaBruinz complaining that Allen shouldn't win the job over Mesko because he was consistently out-punting his coverage. So yeah, you definitely weren't alone.

Put me in Camp Mesko, too, although even halfway into Allen's rookie season he was doing significantly better than Mesko was.

Yep.. and I ate my crow last year over it.. Allen has improved immensely and credit is due him..

Terrible call. Collinsworth was right, he hit him in the plant leg, lucky he didn't blow his knee out.

Well called game with few flags, otherwise.
