You are kidding right?

Oh I know they'd never do it - the owners wouldn't allow anything that could humiliate them (insert your own Jed York joke here)

But these owners who want to tank like the Jets are clearly preparing to do this year are the real threat to the integrity of the game.

A disincentive to come in last would be great IMO.

I would absolutely tune in to watch an exhibition game between a college team and even the worst NFL team and I think others would too - but no matter how much advertising revenue they generate, the owners would never go for it.

Didnt it take place before the draft?

No it was the first exhibition game after training camp began (and after the draft). The college players would get together earlier than camp and have their own practices.

I remember when the Patriots first round pick ( #4 overall) Football Phil Olsen was injured during one of these "training camps", and never played a down for the team.

It was sort of like the Pro Bowl because the NFL guys really werent trying to lay out the college boys. And, if a college guy did make a big play the NFL guys laughed it off.

The Packers lost to the college all stars in 1963, and Vince was pissed. He ran a ruthless training camp after, even by 60's standards.

I don't think anyone laughed.
