This is what gets
me….

The goddamn lateral…the non holding call on Dugger in Minnesota …the Rham fumble vs. the Bengals…Mac’s injury…a play or two away in Lambeau….Strong/Sooner running into the punter, a blocked punt, poor punting once Bailey was lost, Folk’s leg getting up there in years, dumb penalties by Trent Brown and others on the line…..lol

Then again..the Marcus Jones PR for TD, the solid clock consuming drive to put away the Steelers..Zappe playing lights out as a reserve….and us winning against these QBs: Trubisky, Goff, Brisset, Zach Wilson 2x, Colt McCoy, Ehlinger, and now Bridgewater/Thompson. Lost to: Tagovailoa, Lamar, Allen, Burrow, Rodgers, Cousins, Fields, and Carr.

The Pats have some good players, but they just ain’t good enough to win playing ugly.

Like Parcells said, “You are What your record is”

8-8

But hey, we got a puncher’s chance….LFG!!!

The Patriots are not beating the Bills in Buffalo.

The Patriots have run just 34.7% offensive plays in on their opponent’s side of the field since Week 14 — second-worst in NFL. Bills have allowed their opponents to run just 38.3% of plays in their territory since Week 14 — fifth-best in NFL.

The Patriots have run successful plays on just 33.3% of pass attempts since Week 14 — worst in NFL. Bills have allowed successful plays on just 39.4% of pass attempts since Week 14 — fourth-best in NFL.

The Patriots have run successful plays on just 31.4% of pass attempts on their opponent’s side of the field since Week 14 — fourth-worst in NFL

The Patriots have run successful plays on 29% of rush attempts in the red zone this season — worst in NFL; League Avg: 48%.

The Patriots have run successful plays on 34% of plays in the 4th quarter this season — worst in NFL; League Avg: 42%.

The Patriots have run successful plays on 30% of plays in the red zone this season — worst in NFL; League Avg: 43%.
....and we all know with absolute certainty that future performance can be tracked by past performance in the NFL. Sorry but I couldn't find the emoji for EXTREME sarcasm. Rolleyes was the best I could do.

Which 9 owners would object? This doesn't affect the NFC. It seems to only affect KC, BAL, and to a lesser extent BUF & CIN. I doubt BUF or CIN object.
I could speculate as to several reasons owners might object off the top of my head.

First, some of these owners are petty pricks. I wouldn't put it past a few to be holding grudges against other owners and just simply voting against it to be difficult.

Alternatively, maybe some owners don't want to see the Bills and Bengals end up with a quasi-bye (only having to play less than a quarter of football in that game) 2 weeks before the playoffs.

Maybe they want to stick with the rule that they decided previously that all games must be played (as Florio notes, any time a game gets cancelled it's likely to be for an extenuating circumstances such as this - they would know this when they made the rule).

Further to that point, maybe they don't want to set a precedent of cancelling games.

Maybe their team has a bunch of key injuries and negotiating some kind of bye for all teams in the playoffs (by alternating Wild Card Weekends) would work to their strategic advantage.

Probably plenty more reasons.

A complete cluster f. Good job Goodell. As Thornton writes, “They’d find a way to f up a free lunch.”

The NFL Has Come Up With an AFC Playoff Scenario, and It's a Cluster of Major Proportions
Here's what the league should do... If Buffalo compelled the league to cancel the BUF-CIN game because they refused to play or, if we're being empathetic, were emotionally incapable of playing, then call it a forfeit and put an L on their record and be done with it. But that's not going to happen because it's bad PR and the owners won't want to make their beloved Roger look like the Grinch who stole Buffalo's season in the wake of their fallen teammate.

You were in the big leagues in the professional world if I understood correctly. Have you ever seen a more incompetent person than Goodell in a management position?

It's unfathomable how a guy as mediocre as that is running a multibillion dollar organization. Outside of literally blowing every bi-curious owner in the league dozens of times (and I say that with complete sincerity). Maybe that's why he's got such a saggy throat.

I thought the Pats may have missed an opportunity to play in a game that was meaningless for Buffalo.
If kc wins Sat, the pats game is relatively meaningless to the Jills.

It is the difference between 2 & 3 seed (assuming Cincy will beat Ratbirds in the simultaneous game)

And 0 difference if Cincy loses (Then Jills 100% 2seed).

They might even be better off losing to pats if for some strange reason they preferred getting Ratbirds as 3 seed over playing pats twice in a row as 2 seed.

Hey just a funny thought; …..

what if they picked Foxborough as the neutral site for a Chefs-Jills AFCCG

Jk:
im pretty sure they would pick a dome half way betweeen ….. ohhh who does that leave: ……… Dolts

The Bills ALWAYS had an incentive to care about the game vs us. If they won vs the Bengals, they still needed to beat us to avoid KC getting the one seed. If they lost vs the Bengals, a KC loss and a Bengals loss in week 19 still could have given the Bills the one seed. Once the game didn't happen, too much was up in the air for them not to play.

KC plays Saturday though.

Well, it looks like the Bills are going to be fired up and ready to put a beating on the patriots. Its been a junk year of football. I am ready for it to end. The faster Bill can begin the self scouting process and get new coaches on the offense the better.

The playoffs would put the Patriots behind schedule and that is the last thing I want to see.

Life isn’t fair, nor has it ever been. But in 2023, you need to go out if your way to « make things right ». Changing the rules now - last minute - gives the appearance of fairness.

They should just say « this wasn’t your year » and BUF would finish second or third in the AFC and do their best to win in the playoffs.

Poor Curtis made a very bad decision to leave the Patriots. He would've had 3 Super Bowl rings.
The Pats may not have won if they had him as their RB. They never won with him while he was here.

"Poor" Curtis conspired with Tuna Crap so he could follow him to NJ. They're both dirtbags to me.
