I don’t think there is much difference between #4-#9 in the AFC. The Bills, Bengals, and the Chiefs should be able to make it to divisional weekend regardless. The most dangerous team is Miami, IMO. They are the only one with horses on offense to threaten the top 3 AFC teams, IMO.

I would think they would position it as "exceptional circumstances." Not anyone else's fault that this happened but also not Buffalo and Cincinnati's fault that they went through this. So the rest of the league does them a solid by dumping the #1 seed bye and adding a wild card team, the Buffalo-Cincinnati game is canceled, Cincinnati takes one on the chin by probably being the lower seed than Buffalo even though they were on track to win that game and pass Buffalo in the seeding, and on we go.





Then in the 2023 season the NFL says "since you guys loved the 8 seed playoff last year so much, we're gonna make it permanent!" 4 wild card teams become the new normal. And they get a bunch of extra cash from an extra two playoff games on TV.

The league looks like good guys for helping out the Bills. 2 teams fan bases are overjoyed, 2 extra games, and 1 team is a little upset they have to play an extra game. Seems like a winner for the league to me.

Such a sorry state for us as pats fans to be hoping for other results when we control our destiny with a win over Buffalo.

The players should get pumped up and know it's them vs the rest of The country rooting against them . Winning this could create a new chapter for the franchise otherwise next year will also be an also ran story and only thing left to cheer would be Bill breaking Shula's record while team gyrates down the abyss with no post season for years.

Lol that seems like a bit much to put on this game. If we win, we’ll be a heavy underdog in the first round. If we lose, we’ll be in a similar spot to where we would’ve been if we made the playoffs and lost in the first round.

I generally look at the quarterback position first. Tua even with playing poorly over the last month gives Miami a much better chance than Bridgewater or Thompson. I question if Tua can stay away from concussions. He's realistically one or two more away from reconsidering his career.

Of the definite AFC wild card teams, I look at LAC and BAL as the most dangerous, because of their quarterbacks.

This can't be understated.

Joe Burrow has the nuts to beat anyone anywhere so I'm not discounting him. However, home field is huge for Kansas City and Buffalo... the chances for each go way up with HFA throughout.

does BUF have anything to play for? i imagine they need to win to keep their potential path to 1st seed open thereby taking it to neutral site. even if KC loses, BUF needs to win for that path... ? what am i missing?

or we getting a freebie because BUF considers neutral site same as away and letting players rest?

Agree on LAC. For Baltimore, Lamar makes them significantly more dangerous…but they lack weapons outside of Lamar, Dobbins, and Andrews, IMO.

They're removing HFA from KC against BUF/CIN that they gain by cancelling BUF-CIN game. BUF has #2 seed to play for if they find playing against #7 seed more advantageous.

Edit: Damar asked them to play. They'll play to win not resting players.

We've been watching it all season they need a defensive touchdown to break 20, that's not going to cut it even a mediocore sloppy Bills offensive effort will get into the 20s.
