I fear about the future of Gronk's career. People seem to hit him as hard as possible, but the guy is starting to be made of glass. Not that I agree with playing him today because that was costly, but he is injury prone. He seems to get injured every season and now multiple times inn one.

Hes been injury prone since college, If not for his back, Gronk would probably not even be a Patriots

Well Marshall is pretty dam good receiver so when he beats guys Im not surprised. Plus the guy has great hands. He has really changed himself in a good way, wish he was a NE Patriot.

Michell looked great but I prefer not to see the bobbling of the ball as much, practice practice practice

Dion look good, I wouldnt say great but its game two, would like to see him targeted in the passing game a little more and I think running him up the middle isn't the best idea but he looks good.

White looked good

JEII looked great but you can see teams are now trying very hard to stip him when he goes for extra yards so he has to be a little more careful imho

Blount looked good also and putting a nail in the coffin is what we need him to do late in the season.

Rest the TEs next week if needed. The Pats have more than enough firepower at WR and RB for LA.

I'm calling it: He's retired by the 2021 season, maybe even 2020. Its somewhat early to say, but injuries start to pile up and he's only getting older. I like Gronk, but his body is more important than playing for us.

I mentioned this crew and their propensity to "let them play" earlier this week. That PI on Gronk early was a good indication they were going to let the players play. Plenty of contact on both sides today but that crew fit the Jets style far more than the Pats. Sounds paranoid but I've been watching these ref assignments all season and there IS a pattern.
Hochuli's crew would have thrown three times as many flags today.

They don't have a leader, so each crew just makes it up, I guess.

On the bright side Blandino has moved up from a middle to a headliner and is in talks about a new sitcom about an inept commissioner and his wacky head of officiating sidekick.

People seem to hit him as hard as possible

One thing Antonio Gates started to learn as teams really targeted "blowing him up" after his rise to fame - he started going down instead of risking every time for the highlight play. It extended him a bit after a rash of injuries too. Not saying Gronk should just change everything about the way he plays, but there are times he's way past the first down that he can mitigate some of the risk.

Coaches can help by scheme and rotation too - especially with Bennett in town.

what happened to the pats up tempo offense ? they seems to have ditched it until 2 min situations.

And if your right, by then He will be considered the best tight end of all time and have lasted 11-12 years. might not be gates or gonzalez longetivity but so what

Team needs to get healthy and play better going forward but, in the end, they got a W against a team playing in it's Super Bowl while playing sloppy and mistake-filled football. The defense is still suspect but this was their best game in the last 3 weeks.

well, according to SNF Gronkowski isnt expected to miss time as his injury is minor at this point. But I wouldnt mind letting him rest a week for the bumps and bruises. I mean Brees just dropped 4 tds on the rams today.
I say sit Gronk for the Rams game and unleash the beast for the MNF game against Baltimore

Concerns
1 Gronk and his back. He did not look comfortable out there at all. Another week off.
2 Gost and his big toe. Why do I have this feeling that the Pats are going to lose a big game due to missed FG or PAT? The Ravens, Chargers and Coltrs lose that way but not the Pats.
3 White and his ball awareness. Cmon man. Youre a RB at the goal line.
4 McDaniels play calling at times.

This is great.

Martellus Bennett obviously had a priceless reaction to Tom Brady's 200th win:

The Jets went right after Butler today from the start. You know why? They KNEW the league's worst QB this season, the one when hit early is DONE for the game, would stand untouched virtually the entire game throwing at will to his BIGGER receivers. The Jets KNEW they'd be able to take advantage even with close coverage. Fitz threw for over a SEVENTY PERCENT completion rate today, WITH a 4 yard per rush running game! WTF did they gameplan to take AWAY exactly? Fitzpatrick...53% passer for the season. Today? 72%. HIT THE LITTLE BASTARD EARLY!!!!!...but no...again, what WAS the defensive gameplan then?

I think the staff got too friggin cute and EXPECTED Gronk to play the entire game and expected to pile up- yardage on the ground. I still don't understand why they made Lewis disappear from the game plan, especially since Brady had obvious plant problems with his leg.

I agree. I did not like the game plan for the defense. They didn't scheme to ambush and harass Fitzpicksix, which in turn allowed him to settle in and lob jump balls to his bigger receivers. I understand that with the rules totally favoring passing games that it is safer to play conservative than aggressive schemes, but it just seemed like today was a prime opportunity to buck the trend.

All in all, this defense does not have a swagger or attitude when they play. I have not seen this defense play with an edge for four quarters since the Texans game. They have been inconsistent and unemotional at times since then.

one other thing - iam happy they didnt try the "bleed the clock" BS they pulled vs seattle and went for the TD.
