You are the one who just make things up again. I didn't say Brady sucked. I said the offense was as inconsistent as the defense and that I have higher expectations for a unit with Brady, Gronk, Edelman, Gordon and White than for what we have on defense.

Reading comprehension.
You kept saying in the game thread variations of “if the offense didn’t turn the ball over then...” The offense won the game. The defense gave up 40 points. But yeah, the defense played well! They were FIRE.

Let’s end this right now: yes or no... the defense played well? Answer that question with either a yes or no then back up why.

They need to play like that the entire game if they want to win the Super Bowl. They basically schemed their way into confusing him in the first half. Once he figured that out, we couldn’t stop him.

That is not even close to what happened. The only difference between the first half and the second half defense was just bounces and execution for KC.

Jason McCourty also caught up to Hill on one play. I was amazed.. He showed more speed than I thought he had..

I don’t remember that one. Or was it hunt. I remember Jason catching up to him. They should have jammed Hill more.

They should be playing more two safety sets against teams that have burners like Hill. In addition, Devin McCourty should stop being played close to the LOS, because he clearly can't cover as a CB like he used to. DMac/Harmon two safety sets or even consider moving Harmon as the hybrid FS/CB that DMac played. Watching DMac play close to the LOS is painful this season, Idk if it's age or something else.

All they have to do is stop giving Hill a free release off the line. That was probably the most confounding thing I've seen tonight. Someone has got to clobber him as he's coming off the line.

On the other hand, his TD to tie the game was a big mistake- it left too much time on the clock for a Brady comeback.

What are your expectations on a weekly basis? 50 points?

You can't say "without those two plays". They were absolutely critical plays. They pissed down their leg in the second half.

I didn't say without those two plays. My point is that apart from those they played VERY WELL. But since they brainfarted that "VERY WELL" turned into a MEH as I have been saying now for multiple pages.

The difference was 31 points and 14 of them coming off of long plays.

My favorite part about the rise of Mahomes is, we don’t have to listen to the media talk about the “Goat” Rodgers anymore. I know Rodgers is “dealing with an injury” but at least we don’t have to hear about that excuse weekly also.

Tom Brady has just 8 more losses than Aaron Rodgers in the regular season but 104 more wins.

That is incredible.
But, but Brady can't make those throws!

The points are irrelevant for this discussion. Mahomes didn't figure anything out in the second half. You had a brainfart from JMac, that blown Harmon coverage, the Brady fumble and a ST return to the goal line account for 21-24 points. That has nothing to do with Kansas figuring anything out or with schematic changes.

They simply made the plays they didn't in the first half.

There might be something to this idea... What if we jettison all the expensive defenders and load up on offensive talent. We could make some of them play defense too. They couldn’t be much worse on defense but our offense would be unstoppable.

A few weeks ago I suggested cutting the defense, and setting out traffic cones and just trying to have the ball last

I wasn’t serious. But it seemed like Bill tried it tonight

I don’t agree we couldn’t stop Mahomes. There was 2 huge plays where KVN basically played out of character and tentatively. We could argue on talent there..

Then you had the 2 blown coverages. Poor job of coaching and doing much of anything to slow Hill. Nothing Mahomes did special.

This isn’t directed at me but I think the offense and defense played pretty comparibly inconsistent. If not for the Brady fumble then the O would get the edge.

Defense set up a score and got also gave up 7 weak points after the KO return and that’s ignoring the short field on the fumble.

Hill and Hunt are a real dual threat that is dynamite. Tough to shut them down or slow them down

The offense stopped being able to convert third downs and turned the ball over twice. I don't understand why a unit with the GOAT QB, GOAT TE, White, Edelman and Gordon gets a pass for all this inconsistency but the less talented defense gets **** on.

If not for those two bombs it would have been an amazing defensive performance. With those it is just meh.

No clue why they didn't run at least 1 other time with Michel when they were inside the 5 and had to settle for a FG after Brady missed Edelman and Gordon.

Think when they got down there it should have been Michel in the backfield and pound 3 times and if Chiefs stop them tip the cap and kick the FG.

If the offense doesn't turn the ball over and ST doesnt **** the bed they would have held the Chiefs below 30. That is a good job.
The offense is going to turn the ball over here and there. One turnover, the kick return. I want to see a defense that can overcome the inevitable mistake on the other side of the ball. Tonight they collapsed and failed to overcome it.

If they can't do it, I worry for this team when we get into the playoffs and biggest games.

I answered this question on the first page of this thread. The defense played overall MEH. As did the offense.
