It's ridiculous that the team took things that far, IMO. Rod Woodson was excellent on this subject today.

Just another example of an organization trying to bend over backwards after a public outrage that will last a whole 24 hours.

Remember, those kicking calls are made by BB and Judge. Not Gostkowski.

I will say that the 97 yard return should have been called back because Zombo pushed Slater down from behind and that's been called "Illegal block in the back" every other time I've seen it.
Oh, I know those were coaching decisions, and not Gost. I believe he did everything the coaches told him to do, including the ill-advised "kicking it short" on those two kick-offs. His squib kick was bad, but again, I don't see why the coaches called for it in that spot. No need to do anything but play it straight on each of those three kickoffs and it could have cost us the game. Luckily Brady was brilliant except for one rare mistake that resulted in a strip sack, and Gost was great on his kicks for points. A win is a win is a win!

I think McVay has surpassed Tomlin as the consensus second best coach pick at this point.

Sadly, you're probably right. Not to take anything away from McVay, but the Rams personnel department has been by far the most aggressive in stockpile a ridiculous amount of talent to compete in a short window before it all blows up into cap hell. You would have to be a really, really bad coach to not dominate with that team. I mean, Jeff Fisher may have even gone 9-7 with them.

I'm pissed off the Patriots banned the fan. **** the Patriots. That woman beater deserves worse. ****ing corrupt 32.

oh get over yourself. There are very clear rules that you don't throw **** onto the field or onto the players.

The fan obviously and clearly violated those rules and earned his ban

The problem is if you let one guy get away with it, pretty soon lots of fans start throwing beer at players. It's no big deal on the one hand, and lots of jokes and memes can be made, but on the other hand, bottom line, the guy shouldn't have thrown it, and banning from the stadium (where let's face it, he can have someone else buy him a ticket to an event and behave himself and no one will know he's there) seems about right.

Getting banned, and reported to the police, for spraying a little bit of beer isn't one of them. That's a pathetic response by the team.
Throwing beer at players is pathetic. This isn't 1906.

Calling the police is. No need

Perhaps they know the police aren't going to do anything and they are putting on a show for the "outraged" of the NFL. They also are never going to know if the guy attends another event and behaves himself.

He earned like..public humiliation. But throwing beer on a man who beats his pregnant girlfriend is perfectly fine with me and not ban worthy...

but this is NE we're talking about. Kraft is softer than baby doodoo

Just to get back to the defense for a moment....

I've bagged on the defense, and it deserves it. But the good news is that Hill is a unique player in the league. Even AB doesn't have that speed/quick combination. So, while the defense crapped all over itself in the second half, the collapse was made worse by a player who's like the Patriots won't see again until at least the playoffs.

Was it just me or did Bob Sutton look a lot like Marty Schottenheimer ???

I agree but unfortunately the corrupt 32 are being hypocrites because they haven't banned the woman beater for doing worse.
