(Post Edit): Breaking: NFL Ref's Press Conference Just Blew Deflategate To Pieces!!!!!!

Just because I'm a little slow on the uptake...If the PSI of the balls aren't recorded and the officials either approve or reject them, one they're approved, that's it, right? A team could submit balls inflated to 9 PSI or 15 PSI and if the refs approve them, that's what's acceptable to use in the game. If I'm missing something, please let me know.
Pal, if I knew what the hell the NFL does in these circumstances I'd tell you. But when it appears they don't even know, it's up for grabs and anyone's guess. The only sure thing is that the Patriots are cheaters, apparently.

Obviously they never measure PSI. They let the QBs have what they want as long as the balls pass the squeeze test.

Obvious system is obvious

Has anyone figured out how much PSI is lost as soon as it's gauged? If the Pats go in at 12.5, that thing will be in violation as soon as the ref checks it. Not that that causes 2 PSI, just saying. The NFL really isn't thinking this thing through.

Yea but they will say it was the Patriots responsibility. That is where they are going. The bigger issue potentially is, if the Colts balls were inside, they could not have been in the range and stay in the range with the climatic elements. A drop of 1.5 - 1.95 is shown by Headsmart.
It is against the laws of science so if the Patriots balls measured 10.5 or more, the Patriots are in the clear. If the colts balls measured 12.0 or more this is scientific proof they cheated.

So when BB tells them "inflate these to 12.5 PSI'" who the heck knows what they do with them? They could inflate a few, or say, this feels ok, or whatever. And the NFL is saying, we believe they did everything right.

Yeah, no possible grey area there!

But when it comes time to "zero in" on something, you got some poor ball guy who needs to use the bathroom!!! And that's supposed to be a reasonable explanation of what happened!!!!!

I don't even have words for this UTTER TRAVESTY anymore.

~0.25

Along with losing another 1 due to change in temp. when going outside and another ~0.8 from the "rubbing process" Belichick talked about.

I thought BB said rubbing increases the PSI

So any national media running with this yet on how inept the NFL looks after Blandino's comments? This could definitely deflate the situation.

This press conference just blew the NFL out of the water on the whole Deflategate.

The Pats are getting blamed for the problems of Goodell and it just became obvious to the world today.

Just don't hold your breath waiting on anyone in the media or outside of New England to listen.

lol The guy from New England Tailgate advertised the their show at 7:00 and said "And now we return to your regular scheduled programming where they constantly beat the crap out of the Patriots."
(Talking about Felger and Mazz)

That is exactly it. No one ever cared about this before, because it really doesn't matter. The refs squeeze a few balls, maybe pump up one or two a bit and call it good. Other QB's have said they like them over or under inflated. No one cares, it doesn't make that much of a difference, if they cared they would have one set of balls for both teams to use. They never have cared. They don't care if they are a little out of spec, it doesn't matter. No one cares if Little Timmy takes a leak going to the field it doesn't matter. They are just footballs. This was a witch hunt from the start trying to tweak the Pats. Plus wanna know something else, sometimes some of these balls go flat faster than others because they have leaks.

As I've thought for months, and this might sound bad, but as far as Blandino goes:

I want my head of officiating to be some guy who has a 30-year track record of credibility and ethics. I want the person in his job to look and talk like Mike Periera or Ron Winter.

I just posted this over in the deflategate forum but now I see everyone is back over here.

It's time to wrap it up. Wells needs to produce a report saying that there is no direct evidence of wrongdoing and insufficient data to make a circumstancial case.

Then the NFL needs to announce that they have a rule which inadequately addresses the real-world situation, that they thank the Colts for bringing it to their attention, that they are sorry the Patriots had to be disrupted during their Super Bowl preparation while this was studied, that the Super Bowl balls will be checked immediately before game time and at half time, and that the rule will be addressed in the off season to clarify its obvious conflict with Mother Nature.

this is the one im most confused with, Pete came out and said the refs will do something new, all over the media right now and folks are basically saying the ravens got screwed then so what the hell does this mean?

Mark Daniels @MarkDanielsPJ
Blandino said Pete Carroll might be mistaken and the officials with handle ineligible players like they did in the AFC championship

I thought BB said rubbing increases the PSI

Rubbing = friction = heat = increase in pressure. That's beyond debate, the only real question is one of degree.
