Should the Patriots showcase banners for AFC Championships?

  • Yes - turn it up to 11, an AFC Championship is a remarkable, banner-worthy achievement

    Votes: 20 13.0%
  • No - it's Super Bowl or bust, and this lowers the standard of excellence and cheapens the real ones

We've been to more SB's than anyone. Why not show it? Being a conference champion is nothing to sneeze at. But I agree, no room to put them all.

Maybe they do not need a banner, instead maybe a series of logos for each AFC conference won displayed in a prominent location at Gillette...

IMO the SB banners are super enough, do not want to taint or water down those accomplishments.. OTOH 11 AFC Championships deserve recognition..
How about ONE banner pointing out the 11 AFCC wins, and you simply change the banner when another occurs? Put it on the opposite side of the stadium from the SB banners, and you solve the space issue.

The answer to this question is one of simple logic and reasoning....no, due to lack of room because of all of those SuperBowl Banners.

Small banners would be ok.

In fact, there should be a small flag for every win:

There is zero room at Gillette for non-super bowl banners

We can always rent space in The Meadowlands on the Jets side and we'll be able to enjoy them at least once a year.

The good news is we'll have the space already rented when Gillette runs out of Super Bowl banner spots and then we can move the AFC champion banners to maybe Miami or Buffalo.

My very personal opinion is that conference championships should be celebrated. However, I understand that for those who have become fans in the Brady era, conference championships are entitlements, and not winning the Super Bowl is a failure not to be celebrated.

Perhaps, my very personal opinion derives from being remembering the team playing for the first draft pick and picking high in the draft.
Define “celebrated.” Many of us who don’t want a banner for each AFC championship have been die hard fans for decades. I’ll try not to take insult from your post but it’s not easy.

I feel the same...but I don't feel they should be massive things like the Super Bowl banners. I think they either should all be on one banner or small....like round basket ball sized things on the opposite side of the stadium. I feel this way because I think it's a bit of an intimidation factor for other teams....which is why I want them in the stadium and not hidden in Patriots Place or HOF. Show them with pride...but not in your face and not near the existing ones.

I guess when you’re 0-4 in the Super Bowl you hide these in the practice facility.

Very weird to call out the Super Bowl logo in them though. Might as well put Super Bowl Finalist....

Colts fans better get moving on earning this one!

We are such a spoiled fan base. I don’t believe in recognizing only Super Bowls. ALL Championships should be recognized. Division titles, Conference Championships, and Super Bowls. Maybe not all with banners but displayed in stadium somewhere. Maybe they’ll do it after BB is gone.

Any other franchise absolutely. This one, no chance.

No. We are SB Champs or Bust. We should not minimize our standard of greatness. It is weird that this post came up while in Aruba this past week. The amount of people wearing Pats SB Champs gear is unbelievable. NE people everywhere. I did see a Falcons fan with a cap and NFC Champs shirt. I snickered. If it is not a SB Champs banner or T Shirt then you lost

I’d be supportive of (after Brady and bb retiring) hanging banners wherever that showcase all the division champ and conference champs they won together, sort of like an ode to them

i use to have that loser mentality, everyone deserves a trophy,
whats next

afc participation banner?
we player a superbowl winning team ?
