Seriously though guys....Do we really think this is going to happen this season to warrant the answers to this question and argue over it?

When a team wins the SB sometimes they give rings to players that played only part of the year, sometimes not.

If the Pats win the SB this year, has Randy done enough to justify getting a ring?

Based on the wording of your question then yes technically he deserves a ring. We are 3-1 and there's no telling how much Moss affected each game. We could be 0-4 and miss the playoffs if he wasn't here.

Now if you start talking about if he deserves it then probably not. He won't be playing in the SB nor the 15 games leading up to it so he hasn't done enough to imo to earn it.

As of right now? No. I just wanted to entertain him. As we all know, though, anything can happen. If there's anything that 2001 taught me, it's that.

Sure why not? This team is at least as talented as the 2001 Patriots or 2007 Giants. And both those teams won a superbowl.

I think we are more talented than both those teams you mentioned on offense and below them on defense.

It depends on how you look at these in comparison

No, Moss should get *****.

i love randy moss, and what hes done for us...

but he put money over accomplishments and fame, so no, make him get one in Minny, no WAY should we send him a ring

He helped to 3 wins in the first 4 games. Played hard for the most part (when not a decoy) and was far from a clubhouse cancer. Oh did I mention the 3 wins to start the season that got us to the hypothetical Superbowl ring.

I'm also tempted to give some serious weight to his past 3.25 years of exceptional service. But its not even needed.

Unequivocally yes.

He contributed to 3 wins. What's more, he gave much-appreciated help to teammates (younger receivers) who will have contributed to a lot more wins than that. Of course he does.

Dumbest question ever. I'm surprised this thread hasn't been shut down yet.

I'm amazed at the shallowness of the thought process of so many people here.

Absolutely yes, it's the classy thing to do, and it's an established practice to give a ring to everybody who contributed, even if they didn't finish the season with the team.

If it kills him to look at it...if it fills him full of regret and makes him wish he hadn't acted the way he did...well, he'll just have to find a way to deal with it.

(you people that are saying no don't understand that it's a greatest way to say f**k you)

I agree 100%. It's the right thing to do, and for Moss fans, it'd be a way of saying thanks for everything, and for the Moss haters, it'd be the best way to stick it to him. No matter what way you look at it, it should be done.

Of course, if we win the Super Bowl this year, I don't care who does or doesn't get a ring. I'll be too drunk to bother arguing such a tiny thing.

Even practice squad players get Super Bowl rings...

Heck - I think the Colts even voted to give Edgerrin James a SB ring even though he was traded BEFORE the season started, feeling that he had contributed to team development and was worthy of credit...

I highly doubt the Patriots would decide to deny Moss a share of credit for the TDs and catches he had through 4 games

I guess sentiment has turned 180 degrees against Moss.

I was critical off Moss when he was posturing for an extension back in 2008 saying "it's not about the money" only to go off and try to milk other teams for more money - so maybe that's why I'm not upset about his putting money first now. I was upset back then but had NO expectation that Moss would ever put the team first now.

Demanding a trade in the hopes of a contract extension is a very wise business move for Moss. Football is a business... sometimes that benefits a team, sometimes it hurts them - but the knife cuts both ways... its a business. I've got little ill feelings towards Moss... I'd probably have done the same thing in his position if I felt Money were more important than other considerations.

What Wolfpack said. Randy wouldn't want it anyway.

I love Randy and I'm not going to engage in juvenile bashing because he's no longer a Pat, but he's no longer a part of this. If the Pats win the SB, it will be done largely (almost entirely) without his help.

Why? Moss quit on the team, Mankins was man enough to not pretend he was going to try to contribute.

Did you REALLY just insinuate that Mankins did more for the Patriots in 2010 than Moss did? :bricks:

Terry Glenn didn't get one in 2001. The situations are somewhat similar but Moss is much less publicly acrimonious so I think he would get one. I suspect if we win the SB we will be happy that we won't care.

This is a great comparison actually. Terry Glenn's crash in New England was a direct result of being humiliated by Bill Parcells and his genuine mental health issue that was diagnosed and treated after the Tuna showed what a complete ********* he is. Glenn never fit in after the Parcells' humiliation and rarely showed flashes of his OSU talent.

Moss on the other hand is the greatest receiver in Pats history. He is also worse than Glenn in many ways. The biggest way is that he decided to be a public whiner on at public events honoring teammates and on game days when the Pats won, taking the fun out of wins by a young group that is learning on the job - both sides of the ball. What a jerk!

Moss ruined teachable moments and the confidence of a young team by putting himself and his contract before all other considerations. Vince Wilfork - a true leader - played hardball in the media and with the team but only during the off-season and he showed for mini-camps when he didn't have to do so. Wilfork knew he had to lead by example.

Does anyone think Randy Moss thought one nano-second about his influence on Taylor Price, Brandon Tate, Julian Edelman and the TEs when he dressed like a clown after the Cincinnati game or when he went after O'Brien at halftime of the Dolphins game? What a jerk. Good riddance!

I haven't read all the replies, but who the f**k does he think he is? Nomar?

No ring. No Dignity. No Respect.

The guy bailed on the way.

Dead to me.

No. I hope he gets one eventually as long as it's not for a team I hate or with someone like Favre. But no way to this year, I feel like we'd still be 3-1 without him right now.

Oh thank you for your profundity and laser-like insight, JohnVaughnTD. And your contribution to this thread is what, exactly?

Why don't you close your account here and go somewhere where people will fully appreciate your wisdom, brilliance, clarity of thought, command of facts and can understand your insights into the mysteries of the universe?
