Polk pick keeps looking worse.

Should have never let Jakobi Meyers get away.
We are cursed .. no other way to put it... I wouldn't draft a WR in next draft earlier than 3rd round. At this point just lose out and trade down to raiders and get a 2026 first rounder .

And sign couple of veteran wide receivers like davante Adams and Godwin for 30 million + with only 1 year cap hit and 2nd year out . I don't think tee Higgins will sign with us. Draft running back and defense depth . Resign hooper. Release Polk.

Yeah, just like when I was 100% sure they were going to draft Keenan Allen when he fell to them in the 2nd round, only to ask who the heck is Aaron Dobson
Maroney over Deangelo Williams
Sony Michel over Nick Chubb or Lamar Jackson
The Harry Debacle.
Drafting Thornton over Pickens.
We can stop making bad choices.
We hit pay dirt on Gonzalez and Maye thank God.

It is amazing how much easier it is to pick a starter and possible All Pro in the Top 5 to 15. T Hunter will hit pay dirt too.

Sign Higgins and Alaric Jackson, and we do not have a bad offense with a little better coaching.

The book on Ladd was F’ing insulting when he came out largely no other reason than being pegged as “just” a white slot guy.

Anyone who watched his run with Georgia knew he was multidimensional, and had the ability to stretch any area of the field. Still does.

It’s one of those drafts picks that will always remember most of us here clamoring over, only for them to pass up.

It wouldn’t shock me at all to see him dealt for a 7th before the draft.

It was a colossally bad selection and isn’t likely to turn around.

It happens…move on.
He’s not worth a 7th. A 7th has a chance at playing in the NFL.

I am going to cut him some slack ...
He could be suffering from deep depression ...
and/or other mental issues. He has attention problems IMO ... focus on the pass.
thus the dropped passes. Just a guess ... the isolation thing sticks out like a sore thumb to me.

Under performing (supposedly) top players get thrown under the bus way too easily.

One might want to point in the direction of him now living in a cold, bad weather environment. Unfortunately he spent his college career in Seattle. As someone who has both lived in NE, and now Seattle for the past 8 years. Seattle is much more depressing as a whole come this time of the year.

His depression, if a thing, probably stems from him coming to the realization that he ain’t the man he thought he was, and he knows deep inside he ain’t that guy, and he sees the writing on the wall. Some guys have the ability to eat their humble pie, strap on their boots, and get back to work believing in themselves in the process. Many people dont. He appears right now to be the latter.

All we had to do was resign Meyers and draft Ladd and our receiver woes would be over.
Especially if we also had taken Pickens instead of Thornton. Then we’d have Meyers-Pickens-Ladd along with probably Pop & Bourne.
What’s doubly maddening about these recent moves is they chose JuJu INSTEAD OF Jakobi, Thornton INSTEAD OF Pickens, Polk INSTEAD OF Ladd. It’s not like they busted on a different position.
Pretty incriminating for Wolf, who was involved in all 3 decisions. Ladd coming to town is his worst nightmare.

That still pisses me off

Who the hell was dumb enough to think JJSS was a capable replacement...

What a moronic post by Callahan, and another meaningless thread from Love JJ McCarthy. Has anyone here ever been in a locker room? Or a gym? Everyone wears headphones, and it’s not because they don’t get along with others, it’s because they are focused on their workout and routine. I’m at the gym 6 nights a week, and I get along with many people there, and they all get along with each other, and every single person has headphones on. Polk has had a really bad rookie season, but wearing headphones has absolutely nothing to do with it.

When it comes to drafting after the fact you’re as good as anyone. And had Wolf listened to you we would have had a bust at QB. McCarthy did absolutely nothing this season, and that’s your standard for succcess, if they haven’t become an All Pro by game 8 of their rookie season you want them gone. You can pretend you wanted Maye all you want, but I remember the arguments, and it was JJ Mcarthy that you really wanted.

None will be more disappointed than the people in wheelchairs who presumably were hoping to stand up again.

Ian, I have a request. Can you Archive every draft day megathread so we can always access them and see who people really wanted at the time? Because the revisionist history here is absolutely astounding. Everyone always wanted the guys who turned out great, and no one ever wanted the busts. There are more HALL OF FAME GM’s in this forum than there are in the HALL OF FAME.

if we don't get the next draft right, we will become the Chicago Bears franchise quick. They have been a horribly run franchise and cant seem to get the front office and coaching staff right. This is where we are headed

Mccarthy can’t do anything this season because he injured before the start

It would be nice to document the forums consensus picks before the draft... and then follow up after season 1 to see the busts.

I agree with your point that hindsight is 20/20 etc...

However... I do think that sometimes even the dumbest opinion on this board has more merit that the pats front office and their actual decisions.

That has nothing to do with it. Ask any of the thousands of HALL of FAME GM’s in this forum and they will tell you that any rookie who isn’t an All Pro by game # 8 of their rookie season is a total bust, injury or not. There are no excuses in the Revisionist History GM’s Forum here at Patsfans. And no greater Revionist History GM than Love JJ McCarthy, whose draft record is 100%.
