Actually Crosby said - "I thought we deserved better" - after the 3rd game, the double OT thriller. True or not true, can you imagine a Bruins player saying the same thing? Hardly. When I read that quote I knew the B's would win the series, no problem. You get what you deserve in a multi-game series. You deserve to lose when two of the very best players in the NHL - Crosby and Malkin can't even get a point.
As for the poster who said the Penguins played with class and effort despite losing? They didn't have class because like the Crosby quote above they kept thinking they were victims of circumstance instead of shutting up and just pile driving the net until a couple of goals went in. The Pens played like sissies; heartless, leaderless wimps.
And they didn't play with the needed effort, not even close. Look, Rask was phenomenal. His flick away of puck in the 2nd when Kunitz had an open net on a rebound was just out of this world. But when you score only two goals in 4 and half games that is all on you Penguins. Not Rask, not the B's awesome D, not the dedicated back checking of the B's forwards. All that hard nosed effort might explain keeping the Pens at 1-2 goals PER GAME. But two goals in the series is much more a total wimp out by Pittsburgh than it was domination by the Bruins.
