Pioli: How valuable is he?

Is there anyone here who has said they don't care if he goes ? No-one wants to lose him. But there's only two irreplaceable people outside of ownership and that's Belichick and Brady.

I would argue only Belichick.

If we didn't have any defensive injuries we might have won 13 games this year without Brady

I've read and heard nothing but good things about Pioli and it's pretty obvious with the teams we've fielded since he's been at the organisation that with his contribution we are moving in the right direction consistantly.

IMO if he goes it's a big hole to fill.

I am one of them and I disagree with your assessment. I think our drafting outside of the first round has been average at best. I don't expect perfection but I am honest about it. The same goes for FA. Thankfully when we hit we tend to hit big with the Bradys and Mosses. But our hit rate in rounds 2-4 and FA is so-so at best IMO.

So am I, and I don't want Pioli to leave, either. The brain drain from Foxborough since the end of the Dynasty That Should've Been (SB 39) has been damaging enough; losing the only man who can debate BB eye-to-eye could prove fatal. This organization needs to add more talent, not lose more of that already here without finding suitable, if not superior, replacements.
