Our 2001 team had good talent and even better guts. I'm still impressed by SB XXXVI achievement and would love to take one of those guys in a time capsule, especially Pro Bowl-caliber dude to play for a position of need next week.

But who would it be, if you could pick just one?

(No murderer option; I'd rather give credit and name original heroes this time)

“Caught and it’s troy Brown and they might be in Vinatieris range.” And “here comes the blitz and here’s brady, he dumps it to wiggins and no doubt about it they are in range but they gotta hurry.”

From the 01 team Willie. He would set the tone and the edge, rush the passer and be dominant.

From the 03 team I'd take Ted Washington because there's no way the Rams would be running the ball against him. His contributions are are undervalued.

From 04 Seymour. By that time he was the best DE in football.

our secondary is pretty good, and with the way the games/rules have changed law might be redundant

but seymour on the line is always a good addition, let him take up two blockers and have the rest of the Dline cause havoc

also one of teh O lineman might have been worthwhile too

Vrabel or Seymour

Marshall Faulk

Edit: Did not mean Kevin, but also did not see the "Patriots" specifier in the title.

Sey. Pass rush. Run D

Roman. best LB on the team that year. Major upgrade over Roberts. Bru wasn't Bru yet. Roman better in coverage.

Troy. Upgrade over everyone but Jules

These are my favorite kinds of topics. Very fun to think about maximizing potential.

My top picks would be Seymour, McGinest, Law and Bruschi. To narrow those down and pick the winner I'd say Bruschi and Seymour weren't in their primes just yet (still excellent choices though). Law would be fantastic playing along with Gilmore however I'd have to go with McGinest. He would provide the most amount of versatility being able to line up as a defensive end or linebacker and probably have impact on more plays.
