OMG, Dungy?!? No frigging way. He'd be easy pickings for The Tubby Judas who would have his long-knives out after the Colts first 2 game losing streak. Even Dungy would realize that. I'd say if I were a HC and my GM hired TTJ as one of my Coordinators I'd be dusting up my resume quicker than a Jet defensive lineman could make an illegal audible call.

Even if Dungy would be incline to ignore Mangini's character flaws, why would Dungy hire Mangini. Dungy is the master of the Tampa 2. Mangini is all about Belichick's 3-4. Dungy likes a 4-3 defense with a lot of small, fast defenders. The Belichick 3-4 is a two gap system that needs a lot of beefy bodies. Mangini seems to be unwilling to veer from the 3-4 in New York eventhough he doesn't have the pieces. He could never adapt to the Tampa 2.

Contrary to this PFT article Manjudas is actually highly in demand already... I have it on good authority that d-Con Rodent Control products have made a very lucrative offer to have Manjudas serve as pitchman

Mangini is a great position coach, and understands something about running a whole team. So he could handle the football side of the college coaching with flying colors.

I don't know, I find it hard to picture. College football isn't just a different tier, it's a different culture. Like BB, Mangini has never spent a single day in the college coaching ranks. What's more, like BB he played his college ball at a liberal arts college where football games were played in the campus quad so you could watch from the library. (And he was a walk-on there. ) And unlike BB, he didn't spend his childhood breaking down college game tape.

Charlie Weis was steeped in college football, has the personality for it, and it's still no walk in the park. Maybe Mangini would do great there. Maybe not. But as an AD at a top program, I'm not sure I'd want to risk finding out. The combination of no experience and tons of baggage would scare me off.

Of course, Eric is still an NFL head coach, and when his Jets storm back to a triumphant season, he'll remain one.

Good point about his lack of college experience. And while BB spent his childhood years directly involved in college football, Mangini didn't. (He's not a coach's son or anything, is he?)

That said, I think any NFL head coach would have enough cachet to get a decent college job.
