Peyton Manning plans his own record-breaking prank

definitely the kid that was picked on in HS. You just know it

It was suspect from the start after Brady and Edelman's hot potato spike.

Peyton Manning is the most obnoxious football player in the league.
Him and his brother are like alpha-doofus and beta-doofus, and sometimes it's hard to tell which is which.

Welker looks like a dork now just being around him. He looked like a helmet with legs Sunday night.

As I was watching live and seeing him act like a doofus pretending to try to take the ball from the WRs I knew it was planned before the game. His acting just isnt that good.

Plus there is no way Manning lets his WRs do that to him on national tv for real. And to be honest I don't think his WRs would have the guts to do it either. Remember what happened to Welker for making the leather helmets comment? And that was during practice away from the national spotlight.

He will disappoint his fans again in the end.

What's frustrating for me when it comes to Peyton, people just turn a blind eye on his shortcomings in the playoffs yet Brady struggles in early in the season and he gets attacked vigorously yet people already forgot that Manning was horrible in the biggest game of his life.

Honestly I don't see it as that big a deal. Was it a silly thing to do? Probably. However almost all these guys and particularly the elite QBs tend to be very image conscious. They know they are a brand.

If he thought doing this would help that brand then okay I kind of get it. However it probably would have been even better allowing the moment to be organic. Not to mention I get the feeling this was not done with a "Brand" thing in mind as much as "This is going to prove I am great so I want it done like this".

Also lets give this man a break. He only has 1 SB and he clings to his stat records as validation of his greatness. If he wants it this way then fine. Doesn't change how I think of him.

I feel the same way. If it was scripted, it would be funny to me. The scouting report on Peyton is he's very scripted, so that wouldn't even be surprising to me.

However, most people just read the title of the article and didn't actually read it. The keep away wasn't actually planned. Last year Julius Thomas caught the TD that broke the single season TD record. He wasn't really thinking about it and almost gave away the ball. Everyone clowned him about it. Peyton joked earlier in the week about someone not saving the ball for TD 509 or people playing keep away and not giving him the ball. That was about it, no one said let's play keep away, Peyton jokingly mentioned it in reference to Julius almost giving away the ball last year.

If he truly planned this than thats disturbingly lame. Andrew luck is coming for that record so let him have his moment.

except for this part :
"So he came to me and said, 'Keep the ball away, hop-scotch or whatever.'

"I was like, 'Cool.'

"So we got everybody in on Friday and we practiced it, and it happened tonight."

Incredibly scripted, and Practiced. What a freaking robot.

Then doing the interview afterwards and playing it off as them really playing Keep away, and not just doing a practiced celebration(which should be a 15 yard unsportsman like penalty)

Eli clearly would be rather on the field to complete a pass or two to the other team.
Of course he does. Little brothers always want to imitate their big brothers!
