I can live would that, although I will be pleasantly surprised if Gabriel and Jackson catch 94 balls in total. It is still a big drop-off from 140. Looking at the whole picture I see a very shallow old LB core, an average secondary and questions at safety. Some of these were holes last year and were not adequately addressed by the FO, the issue was compounded by the hit at WR.
Focusing on last night, the defense while not great still did ok. The team is built on consistency in all three phases of the game. Last night the offense let the defense down (and the Sanders missed tackle did not help).
Maybe it was because Brady was not familiar with or confident in his receiving core. IMO the passing game will not be as effective as it was at the end of last season.
