So after our close game with Buffalo we weren't going to beat Miami or Baltimore either, right?
Umm...they beat Buffalo by 8 points. I would consider that as beating them soundly. Are you really arguing that there should be an expectation to beat Pittsburg and Indy if they lose to Cleavland?

If, god forbid, the Pats do lose to Cleveland why would you base everything on that one game when comparing the Pats to Pittsburgh or the Pats to the Colts?Umm...they beat Buffalo by 8 points. SD already did, its called pressure, I doubt we can get any worse than 50 yards in a half, we have no choice but to keep improving.
Who is the Browns QB? I have no clue but im sure he sucks, will Mankins play? Will we play aggressive considering the coach rivalry and the fact CLE blows?
The fact they beat the Saints doesn't bother me one bit, we are better than the Saints.
This is not a big-play offense. They have had only 16 plays of 20 yards or longer. Sometimes you're preparing for a team, and you might say 'These guys can score in one play.' The Browns aren't one of them, and part of it is that they don't have players to do it, or a quarterback to deliver the ball to the receivers for 30, 40, 50 yards. So what do they do? They come at you with running the ball with Hillis, and with Watson in the passing game, and they try to put drives together.
This defense reminds me of the early stages of the 3-4 defense that was played here in New England, the two-gapping, being physical, being aggressive, man-on-man, winning one-on-one battles. One player who stands out to me is Scott Fujita, whom they signed in the offseason via New Orleans. I think he has brought some championship attitude to the team, veteran leadership, and he's out there making plays. He wasn't a big two-gapping 3-4 guy before coming to Cleveland, and it looks as if he's made a nice transition. When they went into New Orleans two weeks ago, they came away with four interceptions against Drew Brees; they are making big plays, and sometimes that can be contagious.
This is a team that will make the quarterback think two-man, three-man rush at times. Then, right when you think they might be showing a three-man rush, they'll bring seven. They show different looks and disguise coverages, and that's something Eric Mangini always stressed in defensive meetings: "Don't tell the quarterback what you're about to do; don't give him the answers pre-snap." That was a Mangini mantra when he was Patriots defensive coordinator and as defensive backs coach.

Sometimes better teams lose to lesser teams; it happens. Last year the Super Bowl Saints lost to Tampa Bay, a team that was so bad they nearly ended up with the number one draft pick.
Bengals beat the Ravens, Ravens beat the Jets, Jets beat the Bengals; if you're going to start determining how good a team is based on one game then how do you figure which of those three teams is the best?
Whatever the Pats do against the Browns has nothing to do with how they will do against the Steelers, and it has nothing to do with how the Pats will do against the Colts. Pats could lose to Cleveland and win those two other games. Pats could crush the Browns and then lose their next two games. One game has no affect on the other. The only thing the Browns game will effect is the following week's odds and fans moods the following week.
Schefter the only one on this page picking the Browns ... is he from the Ohio area?

A win Sunday would put the Pats 3-1 on the road this year. That would be THREE MORE road wins on this continent than they had last year. It's quite a credit to this young team that they haven't withered on the road like last year's team did. Dawg Pound will be a nice test and I have to think this team will eat it up.
So New Orleans had no shot at beating Pittsburgh Sunday night right? I mean after all New Orleans got destroyed by Cleveland at home the week before. :bricks:
