Any relation to Brandon Bolden of the Pats?I would try to get WR Allen Robinson from Chicago or WR Brandin Bolden from Houston. Would love to get a CB, but nobody is gonna trade a good one, even if their team sucks. I could see Belichick trading for an unknown player with upside.
Why would Houston give up on Kevin Pierre-Louis?Kevin Pierre-Louis as a speedy lb from Houston for a low round pick.
Danny Amendola from Detroit.
Tavon Austin rb from jacksonville.
He wanted $16M.
Why would Seattle, KC, the Jets, Bears and WFT give up on him?Why would Houston give up on Kevin Pierre-Louis?
Yes. At the beginning of the regular season, the Patriots only had $7M in cap room. They need to keep $4M to $5M on the cap to find guys when the injury bug hits, so the Pats would have had to cut somebody to give Gilmore a total of $16M for 2021 under your scenario, plus they would have had to add a couple of years, at least, to his deal. Gilmore could have solved this early on when they were talking about a longer deal but he was obsessed with his 2019 Defender of the Year thing that was no longer valid after his 2020 injury. Was just paying Gilmore another $6 million and figuring out how to manage the cap really that big of a deal? Its going to feel disgusting to give up any asset to get a CB.
That was what he was making with the Patriots - do the math. He signed for $65M over five years in 2017, including his bonuses. He's gotten every dime of that. He thought he was worth more at age 32 and coming off an injury. Right now he's got nothing on the books for 2022.$13 million for a year would be right in the ballpark of his market value. I think it would have worked.
It was clear he wanted more money dating back to last year which is why he was mentioned as a possible trade candidate. He got injured after the trade deadline. Why keep him if you know you aren’t going to pay him on a losing team? That was what he was making with the Patriots - do the math. He signed for $65M over five years in 2017, including his bonuses. NE Brandon doesnt cheat. The more Brandon’s the better, one Brandon won a landslide election by over 8 million votes.
The pats gave him money from this year early last year, and then he missed significant time, and then he tried to double dip and get ANOTHER contract this year after they had already given him front loaded money.Well that’s why you negotiate and maybe meet at 14 instead of whatever the hell the Pats did.
He’s unreliable. Hasn’t he been injured every year in NE?Rex Burkhead would be icing on the cake heading down the stretch.
The NE offense is missing that passing option.
I think we’re ok in the “shifty wr” department. That’s exactly what Jakobi and Bourne are. Shifty, excel at getting open underneath with quickness and route running.Contrary to most, I don't think we need a CB, Wade will surprise people when he finally makes it on the active list.
I think we need a LB or a shifty WR.
