Was just paying Gilmore another $6 million and figuring out how to manage the cap really that big of a deal? Its going to feel disgusting to give up any asset to get a CB.

Giving a 31 year old CB big money going forward is really poor cap management. He was a great player here but his best play is behind him, and the Patriots need to continue building for the future.

Kevin Pierre-Louis as a speedy lb from Houston for a low round pick.

Danny Amendola from Detroit.

Tavon Austin rb from jacksonville.

Amendola will never play for the Patriots again. Although he agreed to them at the time he’s never forgiven Belichick for the serial pay cuts. Anendola delivered in the clutch, and he played important roles in their last 3 SB runs, but he never lived up to his contract, and Belichick was right to demand the pay cuts.

Disappointed but not surprised that we didn't acquire any of the following:

- a DE with more pass-rushing juice than the over-paid Notso (5 sacks in last 38! games) Wise;

- a big-bodied DT to replace the practically useless Carl Davis;

- a LB with some, or even any, degree of lateral ability;

- an outside CB who at minimum sucks less than both Jalen Mills & SloJuan;

- a backup C/G to replace Thanksdad Ferentz;

- a RB for passing downs if they're not gonna trust Kid Dyno-Mite;

- a quick WR and/or a fast WR.

Not true. EVERY player has to pass through waivers after the trade deadline.
