As regards the time and distance questions, this is little problem. Hopping a plane from Boston to London East, or LA West, is about the same time in the air. As far as broadcasting it would actually be beneficial. A 1:00 PM Sunday kickoff in London would be just right for "Sunday Night Football" in the USA.
Actually it goes the other way with the time change. A 1 PM Sunday kickoff in London would be 7 AM for those of us on the east coast. So if they played the London game as a night match (say 8 PM), then it would be 2 PM here on the east coast.
