Clayton is obviously nothing more than training camp fodder to help keep the veterans fresh: two years on the practice squad and then a year on injured reserve in his third season.

The other cuts make it a net of two fewer players on the 80-man roster. What rookie gets signed next?

The Title is a little misleading; I thought that it was implying that the Patriots released 3 running backs! Good to have some fresh legs in the mix.

We need camp bodies at RB. Surely, we don't need our 30 year olds to have many reps in the TC or even in the preseason.

They have eight running backs on the roster now...the vets shouldn't have reason to get too banged up in TC or preason now.
